Satellite camps banned

Go to a closer camp. Problem solved. This doesn't hurt the kids. There are camps in every part of the country. Go to something you don't need to fly across the country for. These camps aren't to help kids period. Kids can go to any of the 100 other camps in their region.

Why should a stupid NCAA rule limit the possibilities a kid might have?

The kids in florida are all over rosters throughout the country. Many many many don't play in that state

Surely you understand that a trip that includes a flight is going to cost substantially more than a trip that is drivable and can be done without an over night stay?

Why on earth would I need to provide "real research" when common sense does that

I figured you were talking about the financial benefit of actually receiving a scholarship and getting some of their education behind them. Not the cost of going to camp

... which surely you remember, I already discussed,..with todays gas price at the pump and to drive plus the posted cost of a Gators' football camp. Used them only because family lives there.

Anyway, these coaches doing satellite camps are not white dudes with a guitar flying in sitting down and playing Cum Bye Yah. They don't giva a rats assumption that any playahs other than who they came to see pans out. They will however, devise a ways and means to sell said abuse of others to the willingly gullable.

Coaches treat camps 2 ways.

1) evaluate or get an advantage on recruiting

2) make $ on kids

So if I a kid is throwing their $ away by attending a camp then it seems logical that if they spend less while doing that that benefits the kid which is the point

Fwiw I wish all camps were outlawed both on and off campus as I think all evaluation should be placed as the institutions financial responsibility

I Jiiiim Harbaaaugh stand here before you today to say...

IT'S ONLY ME! Who cares about you!

IT'S ONLY ME! Who can give you early playing time!

DON'T YOU BELIEVE .. any other coach cares or can do that#

Especially SEC coaches. They don't care about you, they're evil, and they're campuses are evil. Just look at Vandershame and UThug!

Oh Uh an glad you passed your NCAA academics.

Aside .... "What school we at next"?

It appears, as I suspected all along, that this is more about trying to stick it to Jim Harbaugh than actually caring about the exposure and opportunities of potential student-athletes.

I'm not sure why SEC fans have such a fear when it comes to all things Harbaugh. It baffles me. You should start charging him rent for living inside your head.

Freak is even trying to point out, by posting that article, that all this is about TARGETING 5/4 star recruits, no matter which coach is doing it......are you that dense?

Who is disagreeing with that? Can you not comprehend what you're trying to argue about?

Wait....so now we are talking about something besides the "this hurts the average kids" that you have been stating for the past two hours?
Or has that one been exhusted and now its "you guys just hate CJH".....which is it now? (I only mentioned CJH because he is the person mentioned in that article)

This post is confusing. What are you asking?

Yes, obviously big time coaches will target 4/5 star talent at their camps (I mean, I can't believe I had to even mention this)

Yes, the lower rated/unknown prospects at these camps also benefit tremendously.

How can you disagree with any of that?

I mean, I'm not suggesting outrageous ideas here.

Just hard for me to understand why people can't see that no matter the motives of these camps that some good was coming out of them. We all are agreeing the motives are self serving from what I can tell

Now I understand the thinking the good doesn't outweigh the bad but to suggest it doesn't exist is ignorance

Absolutely. The "average" players are some of the biggest losers in all of this.

So the kids are screwed I guess. Kinda like they were before this was recently invented. Millions of disenfranchised high school kids...doomed to a lifetime of Walmart and Lowes. Why do the evil try to keep brilliant prophets like Jim Harbaugh from spreading goodness and love?
