As a kid, a made for TV movie (I think) called Trilogy of Terror scared the crap out of me - especially the one about the three little dudes trying to get some woman. Another of the three was a little doll that when it's necklace came off it came alive and was not at all pleasant.
When I was a teen I saw the original Alien at the theater and that one gave me a good fright too - great suspense movie.
EDIT: just looked up Trilogy of Terror and the doll one is from that movie but the first one I referenced is not.
The Exorcist scared the living crap out of me when I saw it. I was about 10 years old and when my dad told me that people could really be possessed I didn't sleep with the lights out for about 2 months.
I had a bedroom in an unfinished basement in HS when it came out. No light going down 12 steps. I freaked for a long time just trying to make it to bedroom down those stairs after watching that movie.
Fire in the Sky. I couldn't sleep for two nights after seeing it. Then I found out it was a true story and thought I was going to have to seek therapy. Posted via VolNation Mobile
The original Halloween, watched it when I was 8 and creeped me out.
Went to the movies and saw Urban Legend, the first one that is, and it creeped me out worse than Halloween did. I couldn't get in a car without looking in the back seat for the longest time lol.
I stop my scary movies with zombies movies. I tried to watch the Exorcist over the summer and had to turn it off half way through and slept in the living room that night. Heard a pop in the kitchen and jumped up screaming like a little girl, not even going to lie.
Exorcist gets my vote. The Omen and Shining would be somewhere near the top, too. Special mention to Blair Witch, and Prince of Darkness creeped me out, although I saw it not too long ago and it is pretty dated.
You can probably tell by that list that I'm not a slasher flick guy.
