Why do so many of you believe that with Schaeffer, we would be better this year?

Ainge and Clausen both had good years last year.

This year, it's like deciding if Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles is more sober to drive home from a party.

Our OFFENSE was better last year.  What makes anyone think that Schaeffer could solve these problems?

Maybe he could.  But if he couldn't beat out Ainge or Clausen last year, what makes you think that he would have had more "development" at the QB position than Ainge or Clausen this year?

Removing all coaching influence he had the athleticism to make things happen.........James Banks and Georgia game...I'm becoming convinced that the more a QB can "grasp" the "system" the less able he is to perform...seems like the "system" screws them up!

Beating people out seemed to be a bad thing with him....had he just stuck to beating other QBs the situation for him might have been better.

And save the thug, comments everyone. Let me live in my little fantasy world.

Suggs....memories....

I saw the boy play HS football. I hoped and prayed he'd go to UT. He was phenomenal. His stats, his state title in GA in the hardest class in the state, his ability to read the defenses, scramble, everything.....then came college....

I never saw him play HS, but that dude was horrible in college. He didn't even belong on the field. Horrible.

I was not bashing your post man.

Man how great it would be if we had him. But hey, if we had the option. I would wish he and noone else was our starter. Brent taking 100% of the snaps.

He wasn't beating them out in the spring, it was a 2 man race between Clausen and Ainge. Schaeffer decided to transfer BECAUSE he wasn't beating them out. Did you not watch UT football last year?

Yeah, he started the first game last year. He started the 2nd game too before he was yanked for Erik Ainge. (FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR)

Dude, if you think he was beating them out in the Spring, then you must have been watching another team.

#1 juco player in the country. Wow!!!! He's trying to get a State Championship!!! He obviously would have come in and torn up the SEC like he did last year.

Did you see him in high school? That's what I was referring to. He was a good QB at McEachern.

He got Crohn's disease or some other bad gastrointestional disease after coming to UT and lost like 20# and never recoverd his strength so I heard. Not his fault.

Do you think the thought ever crosses his mind that he may have screwed up by leaving?

i bet he regrets it every nite. but fulmer gave him a choice.. transfer or get booted. u know he did ga.

have you seen our offense. it was probably the best thing that ever happened to him. having to share time with another QB if he stayed at UT, he will find a starting job somewhere in the SEC.

I'm not sure that's exactly how it went. There was talk of him being transformed into a WR and BS didn't like that much. Of course, his off the field trouble didn't help much.

No offense, CC, but as long as it's not ours, I'm okay with it. His attitude is more of the same old bad news that's contributed to our being where we are today.

This isn't single champion combat...it's a team sport, and it doesn't sound like he realizes it.

What did you guys think of Schaeffer going to Fulmer wanting a transfer and Fulmer spinning it to sound like a mutual decision? If thats true, that was pretty crappy of Fulmer.

There's two sides to every story.

True.

His side makes more sense to me though. I didnt think he had done enough to get kicked off the team and I didnt see why Fulmer would want him to transfer. There are other players on the team who have had more problems.

But he's a young, brash kid, and if he didnt think he was going to get to play as much, I could see him wanting to transfer. I dont see why he would want to transfer to a small JC though unless Fulmer wouldn't release him to transfer to a division I school, which is possible.

If his side is true, it seems Fulmer damaged his reputation unfairly though. Making it appear he was kicked off, instead of simply wanting to transfer.

He Volunteered to not attend class, atleast Brooks got the boot walking to class. BS is only trying to clear his rep to the public.
If UF wants him, and im sure they dont/will not, once they get a look at his UT transcripts, thats great!

I cant be the only one in the world that believes, this guy is a burden.

Big time QB/player in the SEC that is at home with Juco "
allowances" WTF?
