Have you ever been in the Corapolis, PA area and had a sandwich called the "Crofton Special"? I want to say it was at Anthony Jrs Pizzaria, but it's been nearly 10 years ago that I had reason to be in Coraopolis.
If I didn't have to make money at it; I'd like to run a record store...
Maybe the creative side of product design (e.g. a firm like IDEO) or advertising.
Actually I was born where you are now - Pittsburgh (McKeesport technically). My family is all from Pburgh and surrounding area but we moved to Knoxville when I was 5. Most of my family has since moved from PA.
Based upon your posts here regarding music, I'd say you'd run a pretty cool "record" store. With so much music available for purchase online, the passionate music store owner is becoming a lost art, I feel.
I'm in advertising and also want to go work at IDEO. I remember a segment on a news magazine show many years ago (probably the late 90s) about how they designed a new shopping cart, and I thought it was the coolest thing I'd seen.
 Hardly - I'm less of a Republican than you think...
It is a sad day when good fiscal conservatives, less concerned with legislation of morality find themselves without a party.
I have an amatuer theory that if people feel prosperous, then it makes it much easier for you to relay social ideas to them. If the party would simply concentrate on shrinking government, the rest will follow.
The IDEO special was on Nightline. I show that video in my classes - it's very interesting. They tested it at Whole Foods in the video and now if you go there, they use something similar - it holds 2 baskets.
Yep - WF version is an improvement, but not quite as good as the prototype they created.
Thx for passing along the source. I may try to track that video down.
I'm currently reading "The Art of Innovation" by Tom Kelley (the Groucho Marx looking guy from IDEO). It's interesting but more war stories than detailed how to.
