Gavol, a couple more questions for you.

1) Do you favor universal health care coverage? And if so, should it be via publicly-subsidized private insurance for everyone or an actual state-run health care system.

2) Do you believe that there should be an overhaul of the tax system to move towards a flat sales tax and away from an income tax?

3) Who was right on the issue of speaking to leaders of the so-called rogue states, Hillary or Barak?

Alright, alright, alright!?!?:)

I would say Hilton Head because I know it so well, but that doesn't seem quite dreamy enough. Hawaii was about as good as it gets when I was out there a couple of years ago, but I wonder if I would eventually get tired of being so far away from everything.

So to answer your question, I still don't have an answer.:p

1) No way

2) Yes . . . Neal Boortz's Fair Tax book makes so much sense that it's scary.

3) As much as it pains me to say it, Hillary got that one right and gave the grownup answer.

Split the difference and go to beautiful Tybee Island. :eek:lol:

I have lived in middle GA for 25 years, and just a couple of months ago was my first visit to Tybee. We drove out there almost as a joke. Somebody had told me it had improved, but to me it was like a destitute man's St. Simons.

I'm not sure on #1, myself.

#2 is intriguing, and I agree that with the complexity and unfairness of current income tax exclusions and taxbreaks, etc., there is a need for overhaul. But I'm not convinced that in fact a sales tax in the end is an enormous break for the superwealthy.

#3 I agree with you. I watched the debate and when he said that I almost shouted. Defining moment for me as to his lack of experience and understanding of the complexities of international relations.

Should have asked me before you went GA. That place has always been a dump. Somehow when J Lo and Ben started hanging around it gave some the impression it had improved.

However there is a seafood place called "William's" right before the first bridge to Tybee that has the best flounder and fried shrimp on the planet.

...and today I saw where he wants to send troops into Pakistan. Great idea . . . let's see if we can inflame Pakistan and maybe bring India into the equation as well.

I used to go to St. Simons (Metter by the sea) all the time, but I've even stopped going there. Coastal GA is just not all that great.

Never heard it, but I love it. :eek:lol:

In the 80's it was much nicer than it is now. Heck, how nice can something that close to Brunswick actually be?

The newest craze is this development called Hampton Island. It is in between Brunswick and Savannah right off of 95. It is not even really an island. Some developer is taking some Yankees to the cleaners!

You are 100% correct . . . Brunswick is one of the dingiest, stankiest cities I've ever been to in my life.

My Dad bought a condo in Hilton Head about 5 years ago and after seeing Hilton Head, every time I think of St. Simons I wonder what the heck I was thinking.

GaVol, was it your intention that, when people said your VN name, they would think you were a Nazi? As in Sgt. Shultz on Hogan's Heroes saying "Yavol, heir colonel."
