Scientists find Missing Link

Personally, I choose to believe that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything we do versus hard evidence such as science and bologna like that.

The problem with this statement is that much of science does not deal with hard evidence, much of it is hypothesis and observations which require at least some degree of interpretation.

By fallible man, kinda like the Bible.

Why are people so against believing in God, Heaven and the after life? Its been said that for a nonbeliever, life on earth is the closest thing to Heaven, but for a believer it is the closest thing to hell.

God offers us a paradise, but people are so out to prove it wrong. Why?

In the theoretical arena I agree, but much of the theory is based on hard evidence.

I've always said this. Scientific theories exist on a continuum ranging from "We really don't know" to "Almost fact". The Big Bang is more close to "We don't know" and something like Evolution is "Almost fact".

Before anyone jumps on that, by Evolution, I mean the overarching theory. The specifics of the process involved are more close to "We don't know". However, there is very little debate in the scientific community about Evolution happening in some form.

it's not that people are out to prove it wrong as much as it's never been proven right.

I've personally been in both camps in my life and now I'm to the point where I just don't care. I'll live my life as well as I can and if I chose poorly...sucks for me.

Freudian slip?

I haven't read any hypothesis by anyone that didn't fully admit that mankind is, overall, lacking in scientific knowledge. It's widely known that we know very little in how our own minds work, much less the intricate secrets of the Earth. Far beyond that is our understanding of the Universe.

As a humanistic guide the Bible is fantastic. I wish more people would adhere to it's teachings on respect and mutual acceptance. As a scientific guide, though, it's bogus.

It has everything to do with evolution and believing the Bible.

The first 2 chapters of Gensis says that God created every living thing.

Genesis Chapter 2 verse 7:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a liviving soul.

If one believes the Bible, one has to believe that God created man and every other living creature on earth. That rules out evolution.

Why does it rule out evolution?

I guess we should also assume every animal on earth lived within walking distance to the ark as well.

You are impossible, first you say there is only one statement about Christ and now you are going off the deep end about the flood.

The flood described in the Bible was when the Med flooded the Bosphorus plain.

You are nuts!

I would say it is far from "fantastic". That being said, parts of it are good.

It's hard to explain the whole 6 days thing when there wasn't even an earth for part of that time.

And for that matter, if he rested on the seventh day, what do you suppose he did on the eighth?

Logic is of little concern when we are talking about naked people running around in a garden talking to snakes.

For the love of every thing holy, when are you making fun at least be accurate.

It was not a snake....... it had freakin' wings!
