Coach Rick Barnes does not approve...Frost saved his butt by throwing his assistants under the team bus

I think Nebraska’s biggest problem is Adrian Martinez. That boy is a walking, talking turnover machine! And as someone said before, it feels like he’s been there forever. And, hopefully I’m wrong, but I read that he has TWO years of eligibility left!? How? Why? Frost needs to find himself a new QB- his job really does depend on it. Nebraska has been close in all their games this year. Their record would likely be quite a bit better if not for Martinez.

Read somewhere that the reason the OC was fired was difference of opinion on Martinez starting

At some point....should have been here also with JG...you gotta just roll with Plan B....I still remember when Hal Mumme made the decision to start FR Lorenzen..he said Bonner had experience but Jared had tremendous ability...I can give you the experience by putting you in but you can't coach ability like he has

Frost is a moron for agreeing to that. All it does it make it easier and cheaper for Nebraska to fire him next year.
And he burned several bridges to more than likely still get fired next year

Scott Frost is 5-18 in one score games since he got to Nebraska. I don’t know if I’m more amazed at that stat or the fact that they’ve had 23 1 score games since he’s been Lincoln.

He’s been so so close it’s gotta drive him and the fanbase crazy.

I'd like to see Nebraska make a return soley for their fans' sake. They were playing Purdue two weeks ago, I watched the first quarter. That stadium was packed. It looked like there wasn't an empty seat in the stadium. That is some true loyalty after the garbage they have put up with over the last several years.

They have loyal fans and a proud tradition I feel sorry for them they deserve better yet they still sellout their stadium. I really thought Frost would turn it around there.

He may have kinda turned it around already. I have no idea how they can really recruit, I just don't know. But they've got 7 losses this year so far. 6 of them (all but OSU) are by one score. 5 ranked teams among those 7. I'm no analyst of football, so I don't know what happens if they get 5% better or 5% luckier or if that's even possible.

They face two more ranked teams to finish the season.

Honestly I never really felt like Frost wanted to leave UCF, just something in his body language.
Of course money will do that, but I'm sure the donors and Admin were heavily in his ear telling him " you're the local hero, come home. We know you can do it" I'm also sure he felt he owed it Nebraska to give it a shot. It's a tough gig in todays college football scene.
Sometimes the grass is not greener, especially in Nebraska.

I'm not sure I've ever seen this before. Coach gets a pay cut/reduced guaranteed money, but keeps his job. As @SGMVols said, I'm stunned he agreed to it. He must really want to stay there. When they presented him with the restructured contract, he could have torn it up and said "Screw that; if you don't think I'm doing a good job just fire me and pay me my buyout."

I thought that too. After UCF won their conference title, and then again after the won the Peach Bowl, he got really choked up multiple times after the game. It was like he felt he "had" to go to Nebraska but didn't exactly want to. He knew he had UCF absolutely rolling, and he knew that despite the sentimental feelings he had for Nebraska and the raise that it was a really difficult job.
