Scott McClellan's new book

This guy is irrelevent, and so is his book. The Bush presidency does not need McClellen to shape it's efficacy.

In the end this is the truest statement in this thread.

McClellan's book is confirmatory for some, a sham to others and an overall negative all the way around. He's getting trashed and he trashes others.

It's pretty sickening to watch the left pundits hold him up as the great truth-teller (while they use to trash him) and the right pundits trash his character (while they use to support him). Nothing positive in this story IMHO.

Politics as usual! The irony is compelling.

very entertaining. Making definitive statements with no idea who you're talking about is just classic.

I suppose you've met the man?

I've read at least a dozen quotes of his in stories on CNN, Drudgereport, etc and excerpts of his book.

People have made similar comments about Bush and the Iraq War for a couple of years now. The only difference now is it's coming from former members of his inner circle.

I've not met him, but I would have gotten his name right if posting something as declarative as you did.

The whole McClennen thing was a bit of a tell that you don't know very much about him, his book, his function or his reasons for publishing such a book.

Except for the fact there's been a half dozen stories on him since his book came out. I guess you assumed I never read any of those either?

With or without this book most people have made up their minds on what they think about this admin. hence the stationary approval/disapproval ratings over the last 2.5 years.

I agree. 7+ years into the administration, this book won't do much to change opinion either way.

I think we will see more of the same. People in Bush's administration distancing themselves from the unpopular President.

The same could be said about the Clinton adm., politics as usual. If your in the same party you distance yourself, if your the opposition, you tie your opponent to the unpopular prez. and his administration.

Apparently he was upset that Bush didn't supports his mom against an incumbent in the Govenor race in Texas. I'm not saying that's why he wrote it, but I'm sure that helped. Let me see if I can find a link.

I think their may be serious questions of how much he wrote in the end. And how much creative freedom the editor had.

Funny that the Bush White House spells it the way I do......
