I'm with whoever said this will have very little impact. I also think the whole thing is kinda pathetic - backstabbing on both sides, profiteering, trashing -- everyone comes out looking bad, IMO.

But I must say I kinda feel bad for Ari Fleischer. Dude has had to go be a speed bump for all the chatter about this - "Ari, just lay down in front of these questions and try to slow things down a bit, okay?"

It looks like this incident has taken a toll on him too - saw him on Larry King last night, and he looks like poop.

There is obviously a push here to make money and the timing of this all just confirms that. I think he was over his head in that position to begin with. He often had that deer in the headlights look. I think some of his views he is making public are genuine and others are just for show. If he was serious about trying to effect change as he states he would be on conservative shows trying to reach the audience that doesn't see it his way. Instead he is making the liberal media tour where he will not be challenged.

If Bush's aprroval rating were higher, I don't see the book being published, but I could be wrong.

Interesting thought. His ratings have been in the tank for awhile, so it might not have been that much of a risk. Plus, there's a significant enough anti-Bush crowd to buy enough copies regardless of Bush's ratings, don't you think?

Without a doubt, Bush is the ultimate scape goat for every thing wrong in the world!

There is plenty... plus, as corny as this sounds, it's kind of like the "in" thing to do right now. Watch any tv show, comedian, or most movies, and they're at least one insult about Bush.

The most ridiculous thing I've heard was last night when McClellan said he hadn't decided who he was voting for but he was "intrigued" by Obama. He might as well have said "Buy my book and I might vote Democrat".
