I tend to wonder if there isn't something else going on with him. You remember this?I said he'd play in the NBA before it was all said and done, because all he needed was the work ethic, even his laziness made him one of the best players in the SEC. Him with a work ethic could be a #2 or #3 guy on the right team in the NBA. Hell, he could be a #1 guy on a terrible team to be fair.
I still wish someone would give lofton a chance though. averaging 24+ points in one of the best euro leagues is something not many guys can do, regardless of height or defense.

According to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com, Tennessee's Scotty Hopson left quite an impression on an NBA GM following an interview:

He said that he thought he was the best player in the draft and would be a superstar. He was just trying to sound confident I imagine. I guess it backfired
When u saw SH at the NBA combines he was impressive. In fact i recall the commentators making the point that he had probably the best athleticism and size for his position. But nobody wanted him because what was going on between the ears.
I didnt mean wierd. I meant his competitive nature. He never had the mental tools. All those guys you mentioned are fierce competitors. Scotty just didnt care all that much.See, this makes no sense to me because Demarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, and several other guys (Hello meta ron artest and J.R. Smith) are in the league and were much bigger gambles than Scotty was. More upside? yes. but crazier too.
