Scotty Hopson

Volsguy, Scotty had 8 pts but could of had more if he was selfish like evryone else...
well thats good to hear about the unselfishness. I saw about up until the first commercial timeout of the first half, and got back to the dorm and it was halftime. but from what i saw in the 4 mins i watched, damn, Jennings is gonna be unreal.

Jennings had at least 9 turnovers in the first half, and if he tried any one of the passes he threw in the first half at Arizona next season Lute would have his butt on the bench for the rest of the game.

Jennings is an amazing PG! I love Arizona's team next year... If Bayless and Budinger come back, which they probably will, they will be DAMN good.

So Blake Griffin isn't a future NBA star? He has more potential than any big man or maybe even any player in the 2008 class

Greg Monroe will be better as a freshmen than Blake Griffin will be as a sophomore. Also, there are about 7 or 8 prospects in this class with higher ceilings than Blake Griffin.

btw, someone on catpause said they weren't impressed with Scotty's D in this game :birgits_giggle:

Which is why any decent basketball mind knows better than to give a player evaluation during a McDonald's All-American game.

Greg Monroe wouldn't be a top ten player in the 2007 class, and is thinner and less athletic than Blake Griffin. The only guy with a higher ceiling in the 2008 class is Demar Derozan, and that's it

edit: and B.J. Mullens

Blake doesn't have half the arsenal of post moves Greg has offensively (also possesses a much lower basketball IQ). Jennings, Holiday, Evans, Riek, Monroe, Hopson and Ebanks all have have higher ceilings (Roe and Vargas could also have an argument). I'm not saying this year's class is deeper than last year's, but you're clearly underselling the 2008 cream of the crop.

Very entertaining game so far. Jennings makes it look so easy doesn't he?

Glad to see Elliot slashing. He is really going to fit the new Duke system well.

Hopson is a hell of an athlete.

Gottlieb and Brennan keep talking about Tennessee as an option for Tyreke Evans and not for Hopson.

Good to know there are always experts involved.

Did anyone just see that alley oop Throw Down by Scotty?? BTW, these announcers just said that Mike Rosario was trying to convince him to go to Rutgers? If that is the case, I might kill myself if a 5 star player, that is that amazing goes to Rutgers, over UK, Tenn, Cincy, and Miss State....That would be a Slap to the Basketball god's face.

LOL, Greg E. picked Rutgers over Duke and other top schools for 09. And we needed him.

Jennings as you will learn is very overhyped, as he is nothing more than a poor man's Kenny Anderson. Holliday is a combo-guard with less skill and athleticism than Eric Gordon, and John Riek is already older than Blake Griffin. Also, you my friend are vastly underestimating Blake Griffin's basketball IQ. He is the son of an extremely successful high school coach in Oklahoma, and if he had ANYONE who had any ability on his team at Oklahoma this season you would see a lot more passing and team-oriented basketball. I'm still waiting to see anything at all from Greg Monroe. I know I can't base anything on this game, but I have been very unimpressed with every aspect of his game. Good thing he's going to Georgetown where is inability to dominate games wont be exposed.
