Scotty Hopson

I'm confident Tennessee will get Hopson, and I'm Confident we will be better next year. Lofton is a great player and has been Tennessee basketball while he has been in Knoxville. But once Tennessee can start focusing on using their athleticism instead of trying to get the 3 point shooters shots I think they will thrive. JP prince, Tyler Smith, and Scotty Hopson, no team in college basketball will have 3 players better than them

Uhhh... Yeah, JP has not exactly been all that great. Plus UNC will have a loaded team. You can pretty much pick any of their 3 and it would be better.

And UCLA and Ohio State as far as that goes.

i honestly believe that hopson is the next step to Pearl taking this program to the next level. He has recruited decently (Chism, Tabb, Ramar, Crews)...not to mention the tranfers (Tyler and Prince). However, Pearl has yet to land a top high school recruit... and once he does (hopson)...UT will garner national recognition like never before. Hopson may be a one and done, but that one year will be a memorable one.

Duke, Wayne, Ramar and Tyler were all in the top 50. But I see what your saying.

I think a lot of you all saying Hopson is a one and done are setting yourself up for disappointment.... He is a terrific player but has alot of work to do if he is to only to stay one year.. Could he do it? No doubt. But IMO he stays at least 2 years..

That's because J.P. Prince isn't one of our three-best players. Wayne Chism will be an All-SEC big man as a junior next season. I also expect a big year from Ramar and Cameron Tatum (Cameron was vastly underrated coming out of high school). Brian Williams could also improve immensely if he works hard over the summer.

JP is Def. one of Tennessee's more athletic players, Chris Lofton is a better player but his athleticism can't match up with JP's. Next year having 3 guys as athletic as Tyler Smith, JP Prince, and Scotty Hopson to go along with guys like Crews, Chism, Ramar, Williams, Tabb, and adding two good freshman in Jurick who is a rebounding machine in High School and Woolridge Tennessee will be better next year than this year.

by all means, i hope he stays all four years. but he is the kind of player that has the skills to take it to the NBA after one year if he puts the work in. its really a no lose situation for UT...if hes one and done that means he had a stellar freshman year...and if hes not that means we get multiple years out of a freak athlete 6'7" guard.

If we do land Hopson, why would anybody be disappointed if he didn't leave after one year?

What I mean is that all of you thinking he's gonna come in and have a Michael Beasley type year and be a one and done is setting themselves up for disappointment. I certainly would not care one if he was a one and done. I would love it. Would be absolutely great for our program.. I just mean everyone throwing out the one and done card could get disappointed if he doesnt meet those standards.
