McDonald isn't a lean towards anyone at this moment. I talked to him yesterday about Hopson visiting, and he sent him a text asking him about the visit. Then we talked about everyone returning next year, and he said it was ridiculous the talent we had coming back. He was even more impressed when he found out Hopson committed.
I believe his top three schools will be Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgetown.
Duke is still a strong possibilty, but I just don't see him fitting in there for some odd reason. Indiana was a big player until they lost Sampson. Memphis is recruiting him, but as Calipari has stated before, he really doesn't care if he goes to Memphis, as long as he doesn't go to Tennessee.
But Tennessee is firmly in the final picture.

Thanks for the info on McDonald, LifelongVol!! Big time players seeing a player like Hopson go to UT can only help us! I hope him and Hopson are friends and get to play together in college... :)

If he does not, he most likely won't do anything during the early signing period (which I believe ends next week,) and I would think his recruitment would be wide open, with UT having as good a chance as anyone.

hahaha over on hoopsville someone posted a message sent to Hopson's myspace from the starting QB at UK..here is what it said.

"congrats on making it out of hoptown man, just keep up the hard work and you'll make it big one day, dont listen to all of these UK fans on here man, they will turn your back on you faster than anything and they think the world begins and ends with UK basketball, you made the right choice in going to UT. You hold down Hoptown on the court and I'll hold it down on the field. Once again congrats and keep up the good work boi. " pretty funny.

Just a FYI, you just made the biggest mistake of your life... You signed with a team full of thugs and a coach that is gonna do nothing for developing your talent... Look at what Coach G has done with Law, Bradley and Crawford in just one season... You need alot of work pal especially on the defensive end and you need some drive !!! You're 2 lazy and I guess at UT that is tolerated but I guess you knew you was actually gonna have to bust your a** if you had came to UK... Another FYI, you're nowhere near a one and done player, not even close... Can't wait til next season when the Cats shut you down... Hell, the Grimm kid from Paintsville lit you up, you couldn't stop him... What did he have on you 24-25 ??? That's what I thought...

Are you ******* serious? No wonder he did not want to go to Kentucky. Classless prick. If he had one bad game there they probably all would have turned on him.

God that homo needs to get a life. Scotty may not be a 1 and done, but he will still be making MILLIONS more than that faghat.

It makes me respect Scotty more knowing that he knew he would have to deal with that crap and yet chose UT. I may be a Duke fan, but i'm excited for Scotty to come to UT and keep that fire under the program's ass lit even longer.

What was wrong about it? My "source," who was Randy McCoy, his HS coach, said nothing was decided at that time. In the New Era article I posted in the thread on the main board, he said he had a notion that Hopson might commit during his visit from talking to other players, but I don't think anybody knew until he actually did it after his visit. I have said all along that UT was among the leaders, and my reading is that the visit sealed the deal. What is wrong about that?

If that is indeed from the QB at Kentucky, it is Curtis Pulley, who went to Hopkinsville Highschool. Pulley is a great talent, and was recruited by many higher profile football teams than UK, although I think most of them wanted him as an athlete and not necessarily a QB. He ultimately lost a heated battle for the starting spot with Woodson two years ago and redshirted so that he would be able to take over the reigns this year. It is nice to see one Hoptown athlete supporting another, and I wish the kid the best against everybody except the Vols.

damn, there is some serious hatin on Scottys MySpace page. I feel bad for the guy. Hopefully he'll drop 25 on them next year.

Breaking news! Darius Miller is named Mr Kentucky today!! Vols get our leftovers for another run at a "traditional" sweet 16 run. Maybe, just maybe UT will make the sweet 16 again...that'll be a whopping 6 times is 100 years! THATS TRADITION!!
