One distressing thing about most message boards is that one cannot give a detached analysis without being called a "hater."

At the risk, then, of being called a hater, I can tell you that no one phase of Hopson's game is NBA ready. It is ludicrous to even think he is close. His ballhandling is awful. His hands are exceptionally weak, bringing problems to ball handling and going to the basket. His shooting is wildly inconsistent. His ball defense is poor at best, and he is not a factor on the boards.

Folks, don't look at the NBA. Take a look at an NBA D-League game, and honestly ask yourself whether he belongs on the floor.

Hopson NEVER dominates a college game. If you can't take over a college game, especially against an inferior opponent, there is no place in the League for you..

Frankly, it is embaressing to even talk about his being in the League. He's not even close to the best player WE have, and certainly is not worthy of conference-wide mention. Mr. Hopson has a quite inflated view of his talent.

If I were advising him (which I do for many players), I would impress upon him the need for him to get his degree. He will never, and I mean never, play in the league. Right now, he could not play in any elite league in Europe, where shooting skill is a premium.

I'm a Vol fan, and have done many things for Vols down through the years to ease their transition to the professional ranks, but Hopson simply does not have a skill, much less a skill set, that is NBA ready.

You are absolutely correct. It should take about 5 seconds to evaluate his draft status---there is no draft status. He, at this point, is not a good college player. Why would anyone think he is a pro prospect?
