SCOTUS approval at an all time low

I dont know about that. The Fed Govt is targeting border States to bear an uneven burden of open borders. At the end of the day, Texas is a sovereign State and has a right to defend its borders and its people.
Sorry but it doesn’t

It doesn’t have the authority to control the border or immigration.

It is a sovereign State that is being overrun by illegals, what recourse do they have then? If 46 States want to dump on 4, what recourse do the 4 have? Bend over and take it?

This is nothing more than the abuse of a few States by the majority....
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

Why doesn’t TX have the right to defend its borders? And what if that razor wire worked as a deterrent?
I believe it viewed as international vs domestic although I suspect the gov would interview if states decided to wall thier borders against each other...immigration is a fed issue..it a bad policy/precedent but we dont have anyone with enough backbone to really challenge it.

Because the constitution explicitly lays out that the federal government is responsible for the border and immigration.

Then the federal government should be putting it along the border.

TX should have used that as an argument. But it's not an invasion and TX isn't in imminent danger.

Look if you believe in states rights you have to support the separation of powers laid out in the constitution. And yes I recognize that the courts have been far from consistent on this issue but at least SCOTUS is getting better.

I would argue that Texas and the rest of the US are in imminent danger due to the drugs and murderers coming across the border.

It would be a good argument but I don't see it working. TX could use it's other option, lead the charge for a constitutional convention and amend the constitution to allow states to control their border with foreign countries. Or they could secede.
