They can not just leave but if they have not enrolled, they can appeal to the ncaa to nulify their LOI. I'm not sure how likely that is to happen but I would expect it would be reasonable to think the ncaa would allow it..... especially if they bring up kiffin promising them that nothing would ever come of this investigation.

I agree with you, but the NCAA has never been reasonable.

Thought that the NCAA had already stated shortly after the announcemnt of the sanctions that they will not be voiding any LOIs. They went on to say that the player must submit a request to USC to get released. That was my understanding at least.

I'm not an expert or anything but thats the way it was reported by espn. I'm not even sure if there is a precedent for such a situation.

I think it was the Jrs and Srs that were allowed to go.

No, he did say that he would release any freshman I'm pretty sure. He said something like, "if someone doesn't want to play football at the best place in the world, then we will let them go." I remember reading that somewhere

Personally, I hope that the NCAA does NOT allow any incoming freshman to void their LOIs and leave usc.

That way, monte's kid is stuck with the most disgruntled, locker room whining "#1" recruiting class in the history of college football. That cancer would fester under the direction of the slug and lead to further destruction of further recruiting and his football program.

That would be quality entertainment, IMO. I'm hoping for a slow, painful flameout of a coaching career like a cheap sparkler on July 4. He can spend usc's millions while he changes monte's diaper.
