For all the fans that are realistically looking at the state of Tennessee football. I was looking at the schedule for next year. There are some tough games. But I honestly look at next year and I can't see the schedule as tough. Forget the Oklahoma game. Looking at the SEC I can see a 6-2 or 7-1 conference record. Of course some breaks have to go our way. But with all the new QB's I don't see any terror games to be scared of. What is your honest opinion on the upcoming slate. Do we have a legitimate shot next year to be in Atlanta?

I guess you forget the long standing history of how awesome new/backup QB's perform against UT defenses. Next year we should really hope for a bowl game, JMO. We're gaining alot of talent but they will be very green.

Oh and to answer the question you posed; no. We won't be in Atlanta next year. I sure hope to God I'm wrong; man that would be some tasty crow, but c'mon..

Ole Miss is gonna be interesting. They're like us, except that I would put them exactly one year ahead on the rebuilding timeline. They already got their big-time class in and making a difference. That Nkemdiche kid is an absolute animal. And, like us, they won one they shouldn't have (LSU) and lost one they should have gotten (MSU).

On the other hand, we're replacing both our lines. I think it really depends on how well all these JUCOs we're picking up will plug in.

One class won't change a program; that being said I haven't been watching their recruiting this year because I'm blinded by all the orange stars in our class :). Are they going to continue last years trend? If not I don't necessarily see them as an emerging contender, especially in the west.

I have a strange feeling the SEC will be down a bit next year. Defense conference wide took a step back this year. Statistically there were some good teams. But no one dominate team. I really thought Alabama would have beat Auburn by 14. Boy was I wrong. I don't know guys. I just have a feeling. Something more than just a great class is happening. I feel good about next year. Call me crazy. But I got a feeling.

If the trend of struggling teams going to SECCG can continue, then maybe we'll meet up with Arkansas next year for a chance to play in the National Championship! #GBO#VFL#DONTTHINKITSGOINGTOHAPPENBUTWHOKNOWSHOPEFULLYITWILL#GOVOLS

Which game do we lose, to me we could 11-1 with the one lose to OU.

No we wont go to the sec championship game next year but I think were going to win more games next year. The only big thing that concerns me is the quarterback situation. If were ever going to be great again we need a good reliable quarterback and no Worley is not that good or that reliable.

I believe it could happen sooner than that, though I will be patient, as long as it takes.

UT has a very good chance to be in Atlanta next year. I don't expect it to be for the SEC game but the Chic-fil-A bowl might not be out of reach.

And another one of these threads.

It seems some of these poster would learn just a little bit. It takes time to bring a football program back from losing to Vandy two years in a row, and Kentucky. I am very excited about where we are going, but we will not get there at warp speed. Realize that the majority of our two deep players will be true freshmen, red shirt freshmen, sophomores and inexperienced juniors.. There will be even less experience on the field than we had in 2013. Agreed that the talent will be better and we will have more speed and the young players will benefit from having doing it Butch's way. We have to remember that we are playing in the SEC in addition to Oklahoma. I think we can win 8 games and a bowl game, but I would rather approach the season with reason and not have to read all these negative posts which the over optimistic people will express even if we lose 2 games in 2014. Those negative posters feed on each other and this board becomes stupid and difficult to read.
