SEC East starting awfully.

So you want Florida to get better? I want them to keep Muschamp unless he starts to win big.

No, I want them to go through losing a coach, losing the players he recruited, losing a year of recruits and possibly not hire the right coach. Alabama went through it for almost a decade, we went through it and now, I hope it's there turn.

The East is ripe for the picking over the next couple of years! We better step up and get the job done. GBO

LOL if you think SC is going anywherr.

Not anywhere - they are going DOWN (where they historically belong). Spurrier has been a great SEC coach for a long time but it looks like he is about to turn into Patterno/Bowden scenario (great coaches who did not know when was time to quit and drag the programs down with them). One down year for SC and given Spurrier's age they wont be able to keep the recruiting up.

Vandy is really bad like really bad their qbs are entire team is awful.

fify

It's bad when a special teams player scores your only touchdown. And if I was Temple, I'd be making my kicker practice pushing it out of the end zone all this week.

I realize that we have only seen two teams from the East play, but from what I am seeing, the SEC East is anybodies to win this year. That includes us. The East is looking pretty weak.

I don't know about USCjr, because they simply did not look good whereas TAMU was well-coached and the team executed very well. On the flip side, we better kick Vandy's @$$ so hard they $h*t through their belly buttons (as opposed to their mouths) for the next decade.

We have lost four in a row to them.

If they get thrashed by a slightly above-par Clemson team, I'd say we have a chance. If they play them close, win, or especially win BIG, I'd say Georgia takes the East.

Then again, I wouldn't put it past Richt to win big this weekend and then get smashed by a different looking USCjr team next weekend.

Everyone seriously needs to chill out until they see their team play.

I'll be honest here and think of my team only, and I am not confident Florida would be able to avoid embarrassment against Texas A&M either.

If we get to the final week of the season, and either the Iron Bowl or the LSU-A&M matchup winds up deciding the West, they should just postpone whichever game a week and play it in Atlanta. It would be a more legitimate title game.

Assuming that last nite is a sign of things to come, of course.

At the end of the day, it's about what it has always been about.....coaching.

Saban is regarded as the best in the business. Miles has rings.

And I would argue that there is no one who coaches a particular side of the ball better than Malzahn and Sumlin coach offense. Maybe Petrino. Maybe the people at Oregon. But, I don't care who you are and how good you are......Malzahn and Sumlin are going to put points on the scoreboard. You better be able to put up 30+

When you look at the coaches in the SEC East.....ugh. And before someone says it, I love Spurrier as much as anyone but it is flat out dishonest, despite his success there, to claim he is the same guy he was when he was coaching Florida.

So Spurrier wins 10 or 11 games the last 3 years and opens up with a bad loss a year after his star playyers leave annd this is the end of SC being good? Really.

We will know more after Sunday. We know where SCjr and Vandy are. We'll find out about Ga Saturday. And Kentucky doesn't count. I'm glad we are playing a challenging schedule before we play SEC ball. We will be tested. I love Florida's schedule. 3 cupcakes then they travel to ALA to take an azz whooping before traveling to Neyland to take an azz whooping. By the time we play Florida. They will have only played one tough team. And we're not sure about ALA as they haven't named a starting QB yet. And we will have played 3 opponents who are touted to be good to incredible. Vols will be battle tested. Time to send the gators back to the swamp with a big L.

It's a beautiful thing. SCar and Pansybilt just got embarrassed. Hope Florida and Georgia lose by a combined 387 pts tomorrow. Kentucky doesn't even matter.

Of course not just this one loss. But let's say they struggle this year and finish 6-6 or somewhere in that area. When a year like that happens (after huge expectations) and you have an older coach the wheels (recruiting) can come of very quickly - even more quickly in this case given SCjr does not have great football history like Penn State or FSU - remember Patterno, Bowden, and to some extent even CPF - who I don't think reached that point when he was fired but some will disagree.

None of that is good for us because if they all suck and are unranked even if we beat them it will mean nothing.

Just sucks we are still about 1 year away from being a contender in yet another down secLeast

Why? Because the talking heads say we're too young? Because we have to replace all our lines? Let's stop the excuses. A&m replaced a top ten draft pick at receiver, a heisman winner at qb and a few nfl o linemen. Yet they looked great with freshmen all over the field, why can't we? Cause we're Tennessee? Yeah right. Our oline has upperclass men across the board and the dline can only be better. Let's stop having these negative projections because of the Dooley years. Believe guys. 9-3 is a real possibility this year. Write this down and check back in November.

TAMU showed us that young talent in an established system with coaching continuity can rise above inexperience. Hope we can do the same!
