SEC Predictions 2010-11 Season

How much would you want to wager on FLA, TN, and KY all being top 10? No way that will happen and you look foolish for making such a statement.

He won't pay up on a wager.

He's only on this site for Hat's approval. Once he gets that proverbial hug, he will be on his way.

Ky will drop off a ton talent wise. How did that prediction work out for you?

T jones was by himself the difference between washington being preseason top 10 as the immediate quincy replacement or low in the top 25. Still say the SEC will be a mediocre conference?

Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky now have the talent to all be top 10 next year

See the difference between your asinine predictions and my thoughts are that I like to use things called caveats. You know, like when I say Kentucky needs to get Terrance Jones to be the least bit comparable to last season from a talent perspective? They still won't be nearly as good. That is due to the same thing that many people on this very board are pointing out right now, the lack of a real leader on the floor like Patterson.

And I would just like to call attention to your missed "predictions" from last year again. You know, like the big 10 thing, the Florida Final Four thing, South Carolina, Arizona, DePaul looking like a good win by the end of the year for multiple teams, NC State being anything but a joke, etc. etc. etc.

Continue blathering though. The more you prove yourself to be a fool, the more entertaining this board is for the rest of us.

I still don't see how anybody call look at a team that just lost 2 top 5 picks and say that the talent level didn't drop off this year. Terrance Jones and Brandon Knight are not John Wall and Demarcus Cousins, no matter how you spin it.

If he thinks Enes Kanter and Knight are in any way comparable to Wall and Cousins, he's even dumber than I already thought he was.

Whatever. You're giving Wall and Cousins too much credit. Its not like both of them were named all Americans as freshman. Oh wait.....

What talent does Florida have now that they didn't have the last 2 seasons?

How dare you question MHF's judgement. He has proven over and over that he knows more than anyone and can clearly predict the future in basketball, even with no factual information to base his predictions on. The SEC rules----take his word for it.

MHF...it really seems like you predicted 20 wins for every single team in the SEC East...

Here is my MHF prediction:
I predict that Tennessee will win some SEC games next year. I also predict that Kentucky will win some SEC games, along with Florida. He!!, I even would place money that Vanderbilt, Georgia and South Carolina will even win some SEC games and most likely some Out of Conference games.

A Team will win the SEC Tourney by outscoring its opposing SEC opponent.

SEC EAST will be deadly. It will be the first time in history that ONE conference will place 5 teams in the Final Four.

With the recent recruitment of Terrence Jones, how do you compare the 2009 Kentucky No. 1 recruiting class to the 2010 No. 1 recruiting class?

- Allen from Jacksonville

It is pretty amazing how closely the two classes resemble each other. Both classes have four five-star prospects and two four-star prospects. Both classes are well-balanced, with all the positions covered.

By the ranking numbers, the two classes are pretty much a wash. The difference between the two, however, is the star power at the top of the 2009 class. John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins were the No. 1- and No. 2-ranked prospects in the Rivals150, and both were named All-Americans as freshmen.

Kentucky's top two recruits in the 2010 class - Enes Kanter and Brandon Knight - are ranked No. 3 and No. 6 in the Rivals150. They will be major impact players, but it is difficult to envision them having the impact that Wall and Cousins had.

For this reason, I'd give the nod to the 2009 class as the better recruiting class.

This is recent, Meyer from Rivals...

He should have asked Emain who says KY is taking a huge step back talent wise.
I think the 3rd and 4th best players in this KY class are better than those in last years, while 1 and 2 are not as good.

It is also remarkable to look at who they already have coming in next year.

MHF...it really seems like you predicted 20 wins for every single team in the SEC East...

Before the season I will get schedules out and make very specific predictions.

This past season I predicted TN would get to the Elite 8. I was wrong about some of my predictions, but right about many as well. I admitted when I was wrong like when Hat said Arizona was terrible and I said they would not be the worst AZ team in 20 years. I also made statements like "Depaul will win a Big East game, and will not be a terrible team" that were turned into "Depaul is a lock for the tournament."

You will find if you stick around that there are a good number of complete cowards on here who will not make a single prediction, but who will mock everyone else when they say something that is incorrect.

I thought Florida underacheived talent wise last year. I think that Bruce Pearl is right about the fact that they have a VERY strong team next year. I think there is no way that he thinks that on paper they have more talent than KY, it is just that KY has talent that is all freshmen, and Cal almost lost several more SEC games with the best PG in the league and the best post, and this upcoming season may have neither.

I think the SEC East will be very strong. 20 wins for 1 or 2 teams who miss the tournament and are at the bottom of this side of the conference is very possible. They lost too many non con games last year that will not happen this upcoming season.

Almost everyone on here is CONVINCED that South Carolina will be worse. I say they win more games in the coming year than they did last season. We will see who is correct. Many of the people on here are unaware of the injury situation there. They start watching SEC teams during the middle of the SEC season and then think they know something about them. Kind of sad.

1. This is one problem with your predictions. When you finally get one right, you bring up the fact that you made that prediction in almost ever single thread. I can't tell you how many times I have seen you say that you were right about UT making the Elite 8.

2. I have no problem with anyone making predictions. I make them, and almost everyone who is a sports fan makes predictions. However, it turns tragic when a person makes outrageous "predictions" (see B10 vs. SEC) and creates 40 threads about it and argues to no end that they are right about said outrageous prediction. And when it turns out this person was wrong about their outrageous prediction, expect a little backlash from others. That's just the way it is.

Here we go again. The SEC will win most all non-conference and have multiple 20 win teams that do not make the tournament. South Carolina will shock the world next year. Same old same old from MHF. He will make so many predictions that he is bound to get something right and we'll get to hear about it for the next year.

Long time lurker.

Not attacking you or anything just pointing out something I noticed....

Isn't it a pretty big deal that he got that prediction right? I mean all of the "internet insiders", and "internet gurus" on this site specifically claimed that Bruce Pearl would never make the Elite 8. Period. Now they want to turn the tables on MHF for making a wrong prediction about the Big Ten, when they have been wrong about our coach, and our basketball programs potential under Bruce Pearl for the last five years. I also remember one "internet insider" (not going to mention names specifically) say that JP Prince wasn't even worth a scholarship.

I wasn't reading this site when Mike Hamilton Fan made his prediction of Vols to the E8 but I'm sure he was ridiculed by these same posters that are giving him grief now...

It's too bad they wont turn the tables on themselves and admit that they were 100% wrong about Bruce Pearl.

That will be the day.

Yeah, we all really missed the boat on the efficacy of Pearl's "controlled chaos." Thank God for his vaunted press. I don't know where we would have been without it this year.

I'm going to love when HatVol is buying season tickets to watch basketball in "The Pearl" or "The House That Bruce Built" or simply "Bruce Pearl Arena"

Will I be buying them from Bruce's benefactors the Pump brothers? They seem to have quite the ticket operation going.

Haven't you heard? Bruce is going to distance himself from the Pump's and all agents. He has a TN lady now and will forever be in orange.

I knew what you were going to say before you said it hatvol, because that's all you've said since the man proved you to be nothing but a chattering moron.
You're right. We should all aspire to be knowledgeable enough to see the greatness last season of the South Carolinas, NC States, Miamis, DePauls, Arizonas, and Charlottes. We should also be able to discern how much better the SEC was than the Big 10. Finally, we should have all recognized Florida's Final Four potential.
