Honestly...I don't even know that I will see from watching the broadcast again. You just don't see what the coverage looks like beyond the linebackers. The camera was just usually zoomed in on Smith getting sacked ... time....and time...and time again. I can't think of how many times I expected him to release the ball when he didn't...and then took the big hit. I have to assume it was crazy pass coverage.

The whole defense is outstanding. It reminds me Marcus Thomas. gator showed a outstanding defensive line without him. One person does not make a group, so is it reasonable to blame our inept defensive line just because we lost Justin Harrell?

Way to go Gators! That was an incredible game and it exposed OSU for the pretenders they were. How about it Kirk? More painful than the last time you got your ass kicked! Eat it Fowler, no +one, SEC vs BIG Ten and they got thumped!!!!!!!!

Head-to-head matchups this bowl season:
SEC: 1
Big 10: 2

that being said, i was rooting for UF last nite, and SEC had a mixed bag of a bowl season... some teams did great, others not so great, others average. i did enjoy seeing OSU thoroughly dominated though

Almost as much as watching the Irish get dominated?

lol i know how each conference faired...

but i just wanted to throw that stat out there. i'm sure ESPN will bring it up somewhere, so i didn't want anyone to be surprised. SEC is the best conference as i have said many times... not that it means much anyway.

nice comment orangeandblue, classy. i never kick a man while he's down, but whatever makes you feel like a man...

none of which are unprovoked. find me one post where i even slightly mocked UT for losing their bowl game to a less talented PSU? I didnt. I don't rub it in peoples face when their team loses.

Being a ND fan what is your take on ND being overated.

ive said it time and time again.

they are. every year they get more publicity than anyone else b/c they are notre dame. i love it. wouldnt you, as a fan of the vols, love it if the vols were the most overrated, over publicized team?

No, I was really asking talent wise if you felt they are overated not handout wise, if the Vols got the publicity I wound not be upset.

my first sentence was addressing the team ranking. they are overrated. they didnt deserve to be #2 at the beginning of the year... most ND fans even knew this (at least the knowledgeable fans). If you want to talk talent, ND had 2 years of recruiting nothing but 2* and 3* players (we had a few good ones that left ala Greg Olsen to Miami) with absolutely ZERO OL and DT recruits in 2 years. We had a RB starting at SLB, a WR was our best cover corner, a converted WR playing safety, a converted option QB playing safety, a D Line full of converted LB's (when i say converted, i mean that they were recruited at ND to play something else... not that they played another position in h.s. b/c that's completely different). ND's year was full of smoke and mirrors. however, i dont think that this will be the case in a few years if Weis keeps pulling in the talent that he has been

I cant wait to see Jimmy play.

he wont start this year. he will be third on the depth chart, behind evan sharpley and demetrius jones. clausen MIGHT emerge to #2 or #1 at the end of the season, but a majority of irish fans are actually wanting Demetrius Jones to start from what I have heard. Anyway, the starter next year will be Sharpley, so you will have to wait to see Jimmy play.

Come on, even those who were rooting against Florida (as rival SEC fans) had to walk away from tonight with some sense of satisfaction that the SEC team completely dominated what was thought to be the juggernaut from the Big Ten.
no i dont.

Why don't they just redshirt Jimmy if he's going to be 3rd on the depth chart, or is the plan to let him work his way up?

that's what a lot of people are thinking that Weis will do if Clausen doesn't show enough potential to grab the job by the start of the season... but if Clausen is close to the other starters, i think Weis might try to plug him in.... regardless, it will be interesting.
