How'd you get tickets? I'm trying everything to get them for that game.

Well for the past two times we have played in Athens my Uncle, an alum of UT with quite a good bit of money, has given my family his tickets to that game, unfortunately I just haven't been able to attend because of high school marching band. I'm pretty sure he is giving us his tickets again this year. If he doesn't, I have a lot of friends that attend UGA, and they can get me a student ticket.

I have tried to document all of the games I go to with pictures but for one of my favorite stadiums (LSU), I had no camera. I will rank them without Neyland and include a picture of mine with each.

#1a LSU - Great atmosphere inside and outside (food) of the stadium. Non-stop loudness. Two non-UT visits.

#1b Florida - Seems every fan is involved and screaming which is why this is probably the loudest stadium I have been to (LSU close 2nd). I am 2-0 in the Swamp.

#2 Ole Miss - The Grove is very cool and the stadium isn't too bad. Probably has the most good looking girls, though I don't understand the whole dress up thing. At least 3 non-UT visits.

#3 South Carolina - Stadium is great though I couldn't see half of an endzone from my seat. Sits in the middle of an industrial park it seems. No scenic atmoshpere outside.

#4 Arkansas (picture) - I put Arkansas here because they had what seemed to be high school metal bleachers on one end of the stadium and you couldn't pay me enough to sit up there. Plus the fans were arrogant and the worst I have experienced (includes UF).

#5 Mississippi State (extra pic) - The atmosphere outside of the stadium was decent but the stadium makes you feel liek you are at a large JUCO game. I looked down to see kids throwing the football under the stands at one end and had a flashback to high school. Flat and lots of water towers also.

Thanks for the pic's Gcrop!

WHAT?????? I love UT .......but Rocky Top after a freaking first down is ANNOYING! The cowbells are fun, different, and unique! You have to be kidding me!?

It's about as stimulating as what they do at UK... Every first down is sponsored:

And that's good for another Thornton's Mini-Mart First Down Kentuckyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!

:pinch:

first down Kentucky really isn't bad because they don't say it very often.

what was more annoying was when they used to throw the ball around the stadium after a PAT or FG.

Your comment smacks of ignorance. Kentucky led the SEC in first downs last year.

2007 SEC Football - Leaders

what was more annoying was when they used to throw the ball around the stadium after a PAT or FG.

Now THAT was cool because it was only done with an opponent's ball. Eventually the ball would make its way to the upper deck, where it would be unceremoniously thrown out of the stadium. That's funny, I don't care who ya are.

Those things are awful. I went to a Peach Bowl in the early 90s and I can honestly say there's nothing quite as annoying as a redneck with a cowbell inside a dome

Does anyone know about a Sanford Stadium expansion? Someone I know said they are expanding the stadium and it will be around 104,000 when they are finished. He said it is scheduled to be finished by the 2010 season i think. I couldn't find any article about it online though.

I went to Commonwealth stadium and its the only away game I've been to and I was not impressed at all. The only nice part about football games there is that its a wet campus. You all have the most annoying first down chant I've ever heard or witnessed in my entire life. As an opposing fan it really put me out of my element.

I agree it is obnoxious, but I don't dislike it any more than I cringe at the gator chomp, the stupid dog bark on kick-offs, ect.

Not sure what UK does but Ole Miss and South Carolina yelling "First Down Ole Miss/South Carolina!" is annoying as hell. They also don't take too kindly when you yell out "Fourth Down Ole Miss/South Carolina!"

There are some opposing chants that I don't mind, especially when you are at their place and the whole stadium does it. Gator Chomp, LSU's stop on a 3rd down "sway/dance", etc. The damn Cock call at South Carolina is annoying as can be though.

Every team has its stupid things that annoy opposing fans. Ours happens to be our unofficial fight song.

We are about the same age then, you want to get me a student ticket also??? :)

If UT had the cowbell stamp....you would LOVE it. It is a great tradition.

No chance. That surely would set off my obnoxious redneck detector . . . much the same way the "woo" in Rocky Top does.

Whether we view ourselves as Refined or Redneck, there's something about SEC football that brings out that Latent Hick in all of us.
