SEC STANDINGS

I think ya'll are talking past ea other at this point. So Car plays LSU Thursday, Vandy is off. Vandy and So Car play next Sunday.

I think the Vandy game could be a bit of a trap game for South Carolina. The LSU game is bound to be pretty physical.

In the end SC is likely just too big and too good to lose to Vandy. If it’s officiated like the first half of our game it could be rough though. Washington is the new Haley Frank. I feel like Frank is not flopping this season like she has done her whole career. Washington picked up where she left off though. Should have had 4 blocking fouls/flops in the first half of our game that were all called phantom charges.

I watched TK make a basket because Washington was too busy trying to sell a fake foul to actually play defense 🙄 I’d be annoyed by that if I was Ralph.

I don't know, 3 successful flops to one basket given up (which was probably a score anyway) that's a pretty good defensive strategy for 6-2 going up against 6-6.

Interested in hearing from the wbb fans on this site on their thoughts about the LSU/SC showdown Thursday in Baton Rouge. I don’t know who will win of course, but I believe it will be decided by 7 or fewer points either way. @BR is a really tough place to win and it will be super charged environment, espn gameday, national TV, sell out etc.

I‘m a SC homer, and maybe predicting with my heart and not my head, but I’m thinking SC by 2-3 points. I’m expecting LSU to come out strong with the crowd energy and take an early lead, my hope is SC can wear them down in the second half.

I think the difference will be the bench and SC will expose LSU.

LSU is playing 5 in close games with Poa getting minutes as well. Think of their Auburn game. LSU bench played about 29 minutes combined, had 1 rebound, and 4 points. That’s not getting it done against a lot of teams, especially SC. So, huge advantage to SC with Watkins, Fulwiley, and Feagin.

LSU may come out hot with a chip on their shoulder and a home court advantage. I just don’t see them getting it done for 40 minutes.

Big advantage to SC going in, but we’ll see what happens. Looking forward to the game and will be rooting for SC!!

Hey @VolFuture how bout doing a prediction line for this game on the OP

Masse: SC 77-67
@Coach Jumper LSU 77-73
Hope you are wrong CJ but I understand your thoughts with it being at LSU. My hope is our deep bench will give their front court some foul issues, but that is a hope. This is the game where I want to see if SC’s 3 pt shooting % can hold up in a hostile environment and also if Cardoso can do work against Reese in that environment.

My thoughts on the Cardoso vs Reese matchup is not rested upon the last 3 times those two have faced each other, where Cardoso won all three, but is based upon the game being at LSU with a charged crowd in Reese’s favor.

LSU this season seems t o be killers or victims
I think on this one they will don the assassin's mantra
I could see it also, almost as if SC is fixing to enter a snakes den, I get that vibe some myself. Watch out for Fulwiley when she gets minutes in this one, she has a level where she can change any game but is so raw still that you don’t know what she will give game to game yet.

I expect SC to dominant. They are cut above everybody else in the SEC. LSU is closer to Tennessee than they are your team.

I agree with you 100% about Fulwiley and if she can shoot and knock down the three ball with consistent she will be a hard check for anyone. The last two game she has been shooting the ball very well from deep. Teams are giving her the three ball to see if she can be consistent from the three. With Paopao, Hall, and Tessa. like Dawn said it with those 3 on the floor at times it really opens up the post for Cardoso, Watkins, Feagin,Kitts. Nothing yet but Tessa tweaked her ankle early in the game yesterday so her status is up in the air for thursday.

She can get to the rim with ease, it’s uncanny how she can drive through a pile of players in the post and get her shot or deliver a head shaking pass, as for the three, she is either on or off lately, let’s hope she is on in this one. If she played 30+ minutes per game she would be one of the leading scorers in the conference as a freshman, that girl can do things with a basketball.

I’m not sure how much CDS trusts her defense yet in a game of this magnitude however, so we will just have to wait and see if she gets decent minutes. If SC gets behind by a good bit and needs instant offense CDS will not hesitate to throw her into the game to be a spark, she has that kind of ability to take over a game offensively at times.

Williams will get SEC FOTY honors because of her role as a starter at LSU, and she is deserving. But if Fulwiley started and played the minutes Williams does it would be a race for that award. Williams is below average at best on defense and Fulwiley is actually good on defense most of the time (when she is focused on it) and is really good at rebounding, assists and steals per minutes played.

By next season and for the next three after this year, I expect Fulwiley to be a 30+ minute per game player and a national name, she has that kind of talent.

Don’t count out LSU, same mistake most on here did last year, even though they said they won by luck.
They did. Had the refs not let Iowa beat the **** out of Boston and Dawn didn’t commit coaching malpractice, South Carolina would’ve beat LSU in the championship. Reminds me of South Carolina’s 2017 championship, no miracle shot by Mississippi State and UCONN is your 2017 champion. Buttttt, you have to play the team in front of you and still take care of business and that’s what LSU did last year….thank God!

This is true, they of course are capable of beating any team, and on their HC in front of a frenzied crowd you can magnify that possibility. It’s a big test for this SC squad. You never know, but LSU getting their azz kicked at SC last year probably gives that team some extra motivation as well. That was the game that ended Reese’s epic double double streak….before it got too noteworthy in the record books.

Well if it helps, I think you all are going to beat the breaks off of LSU Thursday! 😂 Especially if Kamilla comes out and dominates! I think she’s the X-Factor in this game for y’all! Her and Fulwiley! Nobody on LSU can guard those 2 in my opinion.
