We have 24 or so players that can stay or move not counting the undergrads this year. Tennessee realistically will be 5 or 6th at best next season in the league. It's 2025 when we should jump to top 4 or better. Schedule is more difficult next year as well.So of course we will start with the usual suspects Alabama and Georgia and the Dawgs could be going for a 4 peat next season. I guess LSU will be in the mix as well I’m not sure if Jayden Daniels and their offensive playmakers return or not. Do you guys think OU and Texas will come in immediately and challenge for the SEC next season ? Or will they have some growing pains and struggle. And what about our Vols if this season was a transition year what does that mean for next season. Is it a rebuilding year ? or can we make some noise and make a run at the SEC title game? We need a good solid win in our bowl game to go into the offseason feeling good.
I see it like this top to bottom next year. The group highlighted from 4-9 will all be really close to each other so that order is whatever with injuries, transfers, QB play, etc....We are not in the top 5 in the conference next year
Chattanooga - WI think 8-9 wins is tops for next season. Things are looking a little better for '25 but we are not recruiting at a high enough level to be a SEC or natty contender yet.
Some Ole Miss love in there. I agree. Their schedule next year is so back-heavy. They will probably be well within the top 10 by the time they play Florida, but whew **** can go south for them fast with Florida, LSU, Georgia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and South Carolina in a row.I see it like this top to bottom next year. 1. Georgia until they are not.
2. Bama until they are not.
3. Texas
4. Ole Miss
5. Oklahoma
6. LSU
7. Tennessee
8. Florida
9. Missouri
10. Kentucky
11. Auburn
12. Mississippi St
13. Texas A&M
14. Arkansas
15. South Carolina
16. Vandy until they are not
We will not beat Oklahoma on the road and NC St and Florida games will be toss ups. 9-3 at best next year.Chattanooga - W
NC State Wolfpack - W
Kent State - W
Oklahoma - W
Florida Gators - W
Bama - L
UTEP - W
Arkansas - W
Georgia - L
Kentucky - W
Mississippi State - W
Vanderbilt - W
This is acceptable in year four. If they drop any more it will be Florida, NC State Wolfpack, and/or Oklahoma. Not to seem ungrateful for 8 and 9-win seasons as it's good stuff, but come on. That would be two years in a row without a marquee win in the regular season. You have to start getting those in year four and beyond. This is his team at this point.
BTW, this schedule feels counterfeit without USC and Missouri
Agree, Texas AM will be higher I thinkI see it like this top to bottom next year. The group highlighted from 4-9 will all be really close to each other so that order is whatever with injuries, transfers, QB play, etc....
