SEC Tournament Game Thread: (3) Lady Vols vs. (2) South Carolina

That was really a huge mistake by Kellie to not keep her on. Maybe that was not an option for whatever reason, but you really have to make a big push to try to keep someone who can make it rain like that.
Kellie wasn't around when she left .

Yes we need to up the recruiting but in games like this (even when the refs are clearly not good) you have to give it everything you got.

We are missing a few "dogs" we are far too nice. When we get a few players that's gonna put you on your ass and not tolerate the ********, that's when things will change.

The smallest player on the floor for our team (Walker) played with the most heart today. We need more like her

We need more players who like contact if this is how the game is going now.

Like I mentioned earlier, Boston hit Key in the throat on one of the first trips down the court and that set the tone. It was in the lane, but away from the basket.

I don’t agree with that. SC really hasn’t been that impressive. Poor officiating has been the main outcome of this game.

I don't think we beat them shooting like they did today, but the impact of allowing all kinds of contact by SC and very little from UT for MOST of the game changed the outcome. They literally shoved Key 3 times with a lot of force and then called her for a walk. NO WAY a foul is not called on SC drives, very optional at our end. Did not cost us the game, but really sorry use of the same rules for two different teams. Did you see the last call on Key when she was fronting the SC player with two hands over her head and I guess got called for allowing the SC player to push her in the back. Guessing they are afraid of the SC coach. Don't know how the game would have turned out with equal application of the rules, but sadly we can never know. I have gone back and replayed over 20 plays for sure

This is the biggest crowd and very one sided I’ve seen and hear. Makes a big difference. Seems like the refs, the crowd, and the announcers want UGA vs USC. Hmmmm, wonder why? We have to recruit better ball handlers, shooters, and athletic 6-8+ sized C & PFs.
Lmao. Blame it on everyone but the team and coaches. This team is average. Have no idea how they are ranked #14. Get used to this...they will never win anything as long as Harper is the coach. Just hope next time they hire someone outside the lady vols tree.

Multiple times, got caught twice. Won't get away with that in a series of tourney games.

I really wanted this game, however, the Lady Vols have improved. We have nothing to be ashamed of. No one, including a lot of Vol fans, thought that we would get to this point at the beginning of this basketball season. We are at least a four seed in the NCAA's. There are a lot of good things going on with the Lady Vols. The coaches have to clean up these unforced errors.

Well, that comment gets you my Idiot of the Day Award
Congrats

We could have used McCoy these last two games—she could go in and play physical, even fouling, helping to set the tone without getting our key players in foul trouble. We can’t afford for our starters to make a statement because the bench isn’t strong enough. She would have had that bully mentality and given us a few minutes of physical play. Last night at times I thought I was watching rugby...

This was a poorly coached game by coach Kellie. Psychologically damaged by the fouls called on her post players in the Ole miss game. Being too protective against fouls on your player messed with your rotation. Her main concern should've been to get her scoring duo
from being smothered by SC defense.
Dawn had her number this time.

In a game like this is where you miss a player like Keyen Green. One thing about her, she is gonna punch you back in the mouth and doesn't back down from anyone. We have been missing that badly. We are far too nice!
Our players get called for touch fouls. We actually fouled someone hard our players would get ejected from the game. I have complained about the refs in games we have won and lost.

"Hope is a good thing, and no good thing ever dies." I am hoping we get a good coach one day. With Foolmer gone Kellie's days are limited..

Never got anything going on offense all night. You really do have to credit the SC defense. They played great on that end of the floor. Very physical and disruptive. They obviously had something to prove after that loss to us earlier.

Davis was very well defended. She has given us everything and been on an absolute terror for weeks now. This was her first tough game in a long time and it came on the heels of an incredible performance to even get us there. All you hating on her can get lost.

We will live to fight another day. This was a big step in the right direction. Made it to the semi-finals again and lost to a very tough, top 5 opponent. We were losing games in this fashion to teams like Vandy two years ago. Never forget.

Did you even watch the game? She wasn’t too protective, she had no choice. KK would have fouled out in the first quarter if she left her in. They were absolutely not going to let her defend Boston the way we had planned.
