SEC Tournament hosted by the Lady Vols Softball Team

I think the various lineup changes--made to try and find some bottom of the order hitting--have discombobulated the team. I had hopes for Weimer as a hitter but if she's going to strike out twice we need to play Lockman as she is a demonstrably better catcher. I've seen Weimer setting targets in the middle of the plate--you can't do that. Also, I think McSwain should be in the lineup every game--along with Holcomb. I guess that would mean Vines at first, Holcomb in left and McSwain as designated hitter. McSwain gave us some potential pop in the bottom of the order--and we are getting nothing now. I'd rather have McSwain playing than Bearden. That, IMO, is about as good as we can do.

Moss was cruising along and then fell apart, with one or two errors of omission by our defense, and Arnold was no bueno. Not good. We'd better get better pitching and better hitting from Geer and others soon or we'll have a short stay in the NCAA tourney. We should go back to our lineup from earlier in the year. Disaster tonight.

Completely agree. I get so tired of watching Ralph tinker with the lineup. He messed with it the last game in Baton Rouge as well.

Worst part is that with Florida losing the tourney was ours for the taking...especially at home. And not surprised Florida lost as I can't remember the last time they actually showed up and played well in the SECT.

This team just sucked in all facets tonight. Pitching was crap, defense was horrid and Walljasper one again made our hitters look mediocre.

Agreed. The stakes were high for the LVs tonight. They had a golden opportunity to win the SECT at home and they blew it. Badly.

Seeding to host the Supers only matters if a team can get there. The LVs didn't hold up to the pressure tonight in any facet of the game. The wheels came off.

Yeah it's done for us. Florida as well. Expected them to win it. Didn't expect us to lose to LSU. Hope they go all the way now, can't stand Auburn.

Amen to that and was turing point in game imo.Had a real chance to make it a big inning and got one run.Fact is Gregg looked like she was sleep walking all nite both at bat and the field......course the whole team sadly took her lead in that department.Sad display all night.Blew their chance at a Top 8 seed .Course that will probably make little difference if they play like they did last nite there will be a quick exit in the tourney no matter where they play.
