SEC Tournament Question?

The team is on the beam right now. I've seen many teams rest their starters and get blown out in their first game back. Peyton had a perfect season going with Indy a few years back. Coach decided to rest the starters the last game because they had clinched the #1 seed. They lost. Lost their undefeated streak, lost their momentum, ended up losing in the playoffs. If they need rest, then Barnes needs to sub more, but I think you want to keep them focused.

Yep, Indy did that twice iirc. Both times headed for undefeated seasons and gave that away for rest and failed in the playoffs. One was that Vanderjact choke job v Pittsburgh. I don't like the mentality of turning winning off and on. Not sure competitors work that way very well.

& they play a 16 seed the first game. Just 1 upset from a 16 in the history of the tournament and most of the 16 vs 1 are blowouts and should get to rest players with less than 25 minutes of playing time.
There have been two 16 seed upsets in tournament history, but point taken.

Correct, I mistyped. Still 10 days, including Friday. This has been a whirling dervish of misinformation between the two of us.
Let me clear this up. The fewest amount of rest would be:

Friday - SECT
Saturday - SECT
Sunday - SECT
Monday - OFF
Tuesday - OFF
Wednesday - OFF
Thursday - NCAA
Friday - OFF
Saturday - NCAA

5 games in 9 days.

Correct. I was originally referencing the most we could play in the shortest amount of days, as you cleared up. Other poster referenced that it would either be 8 or 9 days. I said 9 or 10, as you confirmed. This has been the dumbest argument/back and forth maybe in history on this site, I’m glad/saddened to have played a starring role in it lol

Question, Vols and Fla win today.
Who is the 5 and 6 seed?
Kentucky and fla tied...
5 Seed will be on vols side of bracket. They both split reg season.

I think I’m right about this.
The second tiebreaker after head to head would be how did you-do against the top teams.
Florida lost only once to the Vols while UK would have lost to top seeded Vols twice.
Therefore, Florida would be the higher seed.

I’m sorry, but 75% of this thread is garbage. It’s apparent many of you never played competitive sports and need to grow a pair.

You play to win. Period.

My last comment in this. There would be either 8 or 9 days between game 1 and game 5. If we play our first game Friday afternoon and our 5th game the following Saturday afternoon/evening - that is 5 games during an 8 day span or approx 192 hours. Yes there are 9 days but 8 between first and last game. We’re both saying the same thing essentially.
