Is this years SECC game bigger than the BCSS game this year? You have the numbers 1 and 2 teams playing, the only diffrences is they are both in the same confrence. If one was say a Pac10 team they would be playing a month later IMO.

IMO UF vs. AL is the national championship game. i don't like it, but that's how i see it.

BCS Title> SEC Title. The SEC champ will probably win it all, but it isn't necessarily bigger.

Don't know how much money the SECCG is worth to the winner, but got to figure it doesn't come close to the payday for even just getting to the big one. Plus I am sure merchandising and what not is bigger for the BCS finale.

Still, no denying that the SECCG is always a big deal and this year especially so with 1 vs. 2 and both undefeated.

Yeah, it's the national championship game. There aren't 4 undefeated teams sitting directly behind UF and Alabama.

I don't think he was referring to the money involved. This game is the defacto National Title game--as either team would beat Texas---IMO.

yeah just like the game of the century a couple of years ago against michigan and ohio state.

the sec sucked this year. going undefeated was no great accomplishment.

No, its all about PAC 10 powers like Cal and Stanford taking over college football. USC had a down year? Must be because the rest of the conference is good now, right?

SC is a mediocre team. THe pac-10 is far better top to bottom than the SEC this year.

It could easily be considered that this year, provided that the winn er of that game does not have to play TCU. I know that may sound funny coming from me, but I dont think t.u. would have a chance against either of em'. TCU would give anyone in the country all they wanted.

you do realize that article is comparing teams all the way from 1895 right? those stats have zero meaning for this year's SEC conference.

correct this years sec conference is far worse than average

The conference on the whole is not as strong as it has been for the last 4-5 years, but the two teams at the top compare favorably to everyone else out there.

I suppose you could make an argument that this year the overall quality of teams is down. Now, I would agree with you in terms of offense. I think it is definitely the case that the offenses are lacking a lot of spark. But I also think to some degree that is a function of defenses being better than they have in the past. Exceptions of course for the ACC and the Big 12.

how do you know if the two teams compare favorably if they don't play anyone worth anything?

I think going unscathed in even a lesser than great SEC is a pretty tough thing to do.

And if you lookj at the way that the SEC champs have performed in the last four years, particularly in terms of their defenses, its not that far fetched a notion that the SEC's best is better than everyone else's best, even if the 3-12 teams in the SEC have been better.

name one of those 3-12 teams that would even sniff the top of any other bcs conference or the mountain west for that matter.

The top 10 teams in the SEC were 38-2 (42-6 overall) in OOC play and 10-2 against teams from the 5 major conferences. PAC 10 is 21-9 in OOC play.

CBS Sports Power Rankings has the SEC with an average ranking of 41st. PAC 10 is second with an average ranking of 45th.

SEC is deeper than any conference. Heck, Kentucky is the 10th best team in the SEC at 7-5.

SEC is clearly the superior conference.

you take a mediocre team like Tennessee, and I think we beat every Pac-10 team not named USC & Oregon.
