SECCG #2 Bama vs #18 Florida (CBS)

Wife is an LSU fan. We saw that game. I thought Harris did a decent job, too.

So if you saw Harris play against LSU, and again today against Alabama, how in the world can you ask if he improved or regressed during the season? :eek:lol:

I recall you guys beat UGA but had a close call with a cupcake this year. I didn't know the role Harris played in those. Thought he might have been confused by Bama tonight.

We improved on offense up until the point where Grier got suspended.

That's true. Since it wasn't repeated with Harris, I don't know if it was Grier, PEDs, JM, or what.

Good talking with ya. I gotta get some sleep. Church comes early.

He did in one year what Butch Jones still hasn't done, in the same crappy division no less.
Typical Gator Talk, anyone who trys to compare horses teeth situation to Butch Jones situation doesn't know anything about football. The Gators have won the last 2 games vs UT by 2 points total, the gap is closing quick!

I don't think he's comparing Butch's 1st yr to McElwain's 1st yr. There's no doubt those are totally different scenarios. What I think he's trying to say (because I agree with him) is that in Butch's 3rd yr (w/ 2 top 5 recruiting classes), he still couldn't beat McElwain's 1st yr, which was a weak ass UF team (the weakest UF offense we've faced since before Spurrier) that had a schotty, inexperienced OL that was worse than ours.

You can't be clamoring the sorry excuse about the empty cupboard in Butch's 3rd year. Sorry, that excuse is null and void and worn out. If we're still talking about the state of our program post-Kiffin/Dooley and we're in year # 3 with Butch (w/ 2 top 5 recruiting classes) then Butch needs to go. But he got a raise and an extension so it must not all be doom and gloom. :whistling:

Good post.

Based on what we know so far, there's enough evidence to suggest Jones has a better chance of not panning out than McElwain.

I'm not kidding. Your defense was statistically on par with last season as was your offense.

No doubt you will recruit well. You always do.
Mark Richt is gonna take some of those big names from Gainesville, and since they got ***** slapped by FSU Jimbo will as well. FU might be third choice on the board this coming year for stud recruits in state.

That's the problem, the gap should have closed back in 2012.

Three years into a new coaching staff you're bringing up recycled excuses we heard when Kiffin and Dooley were around.

You'll be hard pressed to find many UF fans concerned about our coaching staff based on losing to FSU, Bama and a potential bowl game...after being picked to finish 5th in the weakest Eastern Division since the East/West split.

The UT fans who made the trip to Gainesville back in September agree with you.
I'll personally never step foot in that ****hole. Of all the SEC venues, it is the only one that I am concerned about my physical safety. Way too many rednecks.

Based on the tone of your posts, I'm shocked you would find yourself in a potential confrontation on the road.

You come across as such a laid back, mild mannered person.

The sad truth here I absolutely despise to admit is if you switch coaches in the UT/UF game this year, McElwain destroys UF and doesn't look back. Florida's OL this year was equal to if not worse than UT on paper, yet they accomplished more.

I still think UT is right there in terms of being back. If CBJ doesn't get the SECE championship next year I don't think it is going to happen.
