SECT Game Thread: Lady Vols 74 - Kentucky 83

I am all for Mulkey going all in on the ref like that. So did Curry and Kellie. It's ridiculous how bad they are in arguably the strongest conference in women's basketball. Great effort and team win. Proud of the team. Let's take down UK tomorrow night. GLV!! We beat UK we might even get a 3 seed.

It was a 20 point game for the most part.

All I’m saying is 23 turnovers shouldn’t happen.

Had we had a bad shooting night we could have been in danger, glad we didn’t but let’s not make excuses.

Improve it and get ready for UK

Not necessarily. Kellie could have played her starters more if we hadn’t been in control in the 4th. It was a decisive win.

Didn't say it wasn't decisive, I said without the technicals it wouldn't have been as much

It seems our defense is coming back like earlier in the year. It was great to see Miles be brilliant in the first quarter, Tess help us keep our lead while Keys was on the bench in the 2nd quarter, and Burrell dominating in the 2nd half. Outside of the double double by Dye, the other eye catching stats were Burrell's 7 assists and that Tess had the best +/- ration at +20. Loud UT crowd gets kudos as well. Encore for tomorrow night!!!

A Dominant Performance. Let that sink in. How long since we heard that? Couldn't have come at a better time. Guess this means we're hosting!

What a great defensive effort, especially on Davis. Career game for Dye, and for Miles. I was thinking maybe next year Powell and Miles can be our version of Chandler and Zeigler. Miles' motor is the only one on campus equal to Zerigler's. What a gift she has been this season.

My favorite moment, and I think the most important in a long time, was in the 3rd qtr when they cut the lead to 12 and in response, the Prodigal Rae came home! 11 pts later, the game was over. Darby also had a big basket during that stretch. She had a fine game.

I learned a long time ago that KJH really does know what she's doing with her rotation, but there were still times I was yelling "how's that group supposed to score?" But props to her for gambling against a very tired team and saving alot of important legs for tomorrow. Wynn played pretty well, but nerve wracking as always. Lots of frosh got important tourney experience. Also, props to the coaches for having them absolutely ready from the get go.

So glad KY beat LSU and I thought Mulkey was far out of line. Looked like she took a poke at that ref! Or two. Anyway, as someone said upthread, hopefully tomorrow will be one of Howard's scheduled days off. I'll bet the newly revived Rae Burrell will have something to say about that. She's locked her down before!

I've always liked Kristy Curry but dang, she looked like a serial killer.

Lol I will just leave it at it was a good win, hope we improve the 23 turnovers cause that is indefensible no matter what anyone says

Started to wait until tomorrow to comment but this is tournament time and everybody needs to step up. Thought Burrell had the best game of her career. She was very efficient. But the play of the game goes to Dye, who scored the first Tennessee points and we never looked back. At the end of the first quarter the score was 15 to 5 and Alabama looked like they had been gut punched.
