Seeing Bruce Pearl is like seeing an ex girlfriend

Well, maybe not to that extent. But, I still am pissed off about how the whole thing went down. Granted, I think we are in great hands. But there is no replacing Bruce Pearl.

Have you ever had an ex-girlfriend still hang around your town, your hang-outs, and still hanging out with your friends? No matter who broke up with who, it's always awkward and there are still feelings.

Why what happened happened, we'll never really know. But, truth is, I get emotional when I see him on tv. I mean, he had it all. He could coach. Man could he coach. He could go out in public, kiss babies, raise money for causes, say hi to you in a non-condescending way. He was great. And now somebody else will have him as coach. It's going to happen and it's not going to be fun. Imagine, when he is coach at Louisville or NC State or something like that in a few years. We'll be like, "he used to be ours." What happened? I don't know. Wish I did.

It sucks and I don't wish he'd move out of town. Part of me does. But, come basketball season it's going to be painful. For Cuanzo, it's going to be bad. We loose any amount of games or not go to the tournament, it's going to be like "Bruce would have done this....or we would have made it with this team with Bruce, etc."

I don't think anybody anywhere could take a team 6 years ago that hadn't made the dance in 5 years or something like that and take them to a #2 seed. That is simply irreplaceable. The best coaching job, i think in the history of UT and one of the all-time greats.

But, we'll see him with somebody else in a few years. And we'll have a coach that we ended up with good or bad. Still emotions will be there.

I still love the guy but just can't figure out how it got away from us. I guess we'll never know.

He got away from us because he is a low life cheater who puts on a great front... He is similar to the ex girlfriend who told you everything you wanna hear to your face then goes out and nails your best friend.

Truth hurts. Sorry to break it to you... but he is not who you thought he was. No worries, there are plenty of other fish in the sea, and the next one will make you forget about all ther pain you've felt from the last one

This is where I stopped reading.

Haven't stopped laughing though.

To the OP, while taste is certainly subjective, I would imagine that if you stop dating women that look like middle-aged men, then seeing Bruce Pearl in the future might not inspire the same feelings.

I agree with you completely. But look out. The morality police on this site that want everyone hung for their mistakes are going to come after you. There are better places to talk about not hating Pearl.

Yes and if the truth were know most of them are doing things as bad as and probably much worse than Pearl. They are all hypocrits. The bible told me so "judge not that ye be not judged."

You stated that " What happened, we may never know."
I thought that Pearl was given a vote of confidence from Hamilton. Then (1) The bump rule (2) The Ky. game tickets incident (3) the Brian Williams failed drug test incident led to Pearl's firing.
I see no mystery to his firing!!!!

Why do people keep bringing up the Williams drug test and the tickets, neither of these were violations that could be blamed on Pearl. The drug test excuse was not a violation of NCAA rules and the tickets were done by some low level employee. Pearl got fired because he bumped into a hs player an occurance which is very common. Cheek was looking for an excuse to fire Pearl and used these incidents as that excuse.

Coming from the "break out the curtains" guy. How ironic.

The difference being that I really believe that the black curtains will be back after a couple of years of losing basketball.
Martin may be another John Wooden but that still remains to be seen. I hope he is successful, but I would bet he won't be as successful as Pearl.

Pearl was all that the OP said. When it's all said and done he told a bald face lie to the NCAA. He multiplied his lie by asking others to lie to the NCAA also. Sure I forgive him, but you are not free of the consequences and that was his dismissal. We will see if Jim Tressell loses his job. His lie effected the outcome of games Pearls transgressions did not. We are looking at you OSU chancellor and AD.

If UT is down for the next year or two, it's much more likely to be an indictment on the mess Pearl left behind than on Martin's abilities.

The real difference is that you want Martin to fail because you feel it somehow will make your hero look better. That's one of many reasons that the entire board thinks you're a fool.

You accept the postings of the other pearl haters as etched in stone. LMAO. It has come out that Pearl had nothing to do with the tickets. Also if Pearl found out about Williams failed drug test it had to be Hamilton who reported the news to Pearl. Read the rules. The drug test results are reported to the AD.

shocking that the basketball geniues of the board are already blaming pearl for 'zo's possible early failures. what a bunch of pathetic losers.

Who is responsible for the lack of depth on the roster right now? Who is the one that has possible sanctions coming? It's not Coach Martin.
