So after last night, I got to thinking about the teams and players and teams that are now, and quite possibly have already been deemed overrated. I thought on a slow day like today, it might be worth discussing who yall think fits these two categories.

In no particular order I'll start with SC. This guy maybe the future, but he isnt the present. Their recent loss isnt his fault, but it will be his burden to bear. SC should still contend out West, but the road to the BCS NC game has passed them by. In short, they were over hyped.

Simply put, this guy got beat by a better team, but they've been hot ever since. We'll know more when they play the U, but as for now, and pending their performance in Florida, I'll stay on the fence with the sooners.

If Case gets two Big12 teams in a row, there should be zero discussion whether or not the kid is legit. An under advertised Qb at an under advertised school might just be in the finals for the Heisman at the end of the year. I say so far, he's as real as they get, and if he can lead the coogs past this guy

I say he deserves all the hype he gets.

The bears had a great find in Griffin, but after dropping the opener, things have been shakey at best.

Briles better ralley the troops because I can easily see them at the bottom of the B12 South at this juncture. As for Bowl posibilities, I'll admit I was wrong.

corp played as bad as any qb i've ever seen againt UW. if barkley started that game they would have won by 3 tds. if sanchez returned they'd be the best team in the country. i bet they look pretty good the second half of the season once barkley gets going.

but he didnt and now there is parity in the PAC10. You should be happy Droski.

somewhat. though you know if cal wins the pac-10 everyone will say "well it's only because sc wasn't good this year."

Who cares. Its the same as folks saying the only reason the Houston Rockets won their two championships is because Jordan was playing Baseball. A win, is a win in my book, and the guys who keep the record books.

yeah, he probably will; which again puts them in perfect position - dont take it the wrong way droski - to sneak into the rose bowl again like they did last year

(by which I mean another team messing up near the end and letting them in...)

that happens regardless. You know UT only won the NC in 98 because they didn't have to play Ohio St.

if you're a top 10 team and win it, they wont say anything. or at least noone important will

that's all insequential offseason talk by people that are going to back their conference as better than the others regardless of what happened that year

i'll take the end result in any way, but unfortunetly i'm surrounded by sc fans here so i'll hear this for the end of eternity unless we run the table or something.

there's only parity if USC doesn't run thru the rest of their schedule now that he's back. The winner in 2 weeks may very well play for the NC

Need I say more? I think we all know where we stand on this guy.

Guess who he's not on the phone with. (An NFL agent) The Irish get their love year in and year out, and if they make it through the rest of the season without any more blemishes, you can bet Dr. Lou will be screaming from the rooftops.

What a great little Running Back they have over there. Unfortunately, he played like he was a youngster still after getting all the love ESPN can dish out. In short, as always, pretenders.

You wanna know what he's thinking? He's things about a game in January right now, and as the season continues, and the upsets continue, he might be right in doing so. We'll see, but for right now, as much as it pains me to say it, Texas and the gators are the only real deal left standing.

yeah, i mean people do keep forgetting that these teams are losing really early in the season...and with there not being any sort of strength of schedule thing, the polls tend to care more that a team didnt lose in the last week or two rather than who they lost too alot of times.

If Ole miss, USC, OU, Ohio State or whoever wins out from here on, they're very much right back in it

i think we see a darkhorse team in the NC game.

neither texas or florida are good enough to avoid the upset completely.

i think the darkhorse is just going to be a team in this case who we all claim is done after losing a game in one of these first few weeks

Bama better be on upset alert. Just sayin.

would think so too after what arky did last week....course bama's defense is much better than UGA's

still, they haven't dropped the ball or arent out of the running at this point

OU especially since it was their first game and they have quality opponents left. USC as well since they'll have to beat a very good Cal team. Ole Miss I don't see bouncing back since they simply just weren't that good in the first place.

A perfect season till thanksgiving and a loss to my Ags will not keep Texas out of the NCG. Same as Florida and Free Shoes University.

i wouldnt' be surprised at all to see a 1 loss team get back. i dont' see it being sc though. their qb play is too poor. barkley wont be anywhere near 100% for cal.

I hope youre right about Bama v Arkansas. I want the piggies beat, broken, and disheartened when we get em in Dallas.

i wasn't saying they were that good though, i'm just saying what would happen

if they end up 12-1, winning SEC championship....what are the odds you think that they'd get left out?

It's going to be pretty unlikely that there's going to be two or three undefeated teams sitting up top

If you are basing your opinion on UF on how they played UT then I think you might be shortchanging your boys a bit. UT's defense is one of the best in the country.
