September 10, 2024 Presidential Debate Thread. (Insert snarky subtitles here.)

No you’re being your usual contrarian self just looking to argue, especially about Trump. The lack of basic competence in a government agency which almost got Trump killed was worth a mention. None of the other bs the leftist moderators brought up tonight was worth arguing about for you, but for some reason the attempt on a former president’s life is just too much.

I’ll let people decide who’s the dumb one.

At no point did I say the moderators asked valid questions, I just asked you for the value of that question, which you can't demonstrate so you immediately lash out like a child.

Homeland Security operates the SS, controls the border, and protects us from terrorists both domestically and abroad.

The biggest failure of this agency in 20+ years has to be discussed. Period.

It's a topic thats a L for the Dems so thats why it wasnt brought up.

This is a solid answer, and thank you for answering my question with something reasonable.

The biggest failure of homeland security is its entire useless, expensive existence. Ask them about homeland security, yes, and how quickly they can get rid of it.

She should have been asked about whether she supports ending the filibuster. Does she support term limits for SCOTUS justices? Then she should be reminded of how that'd be unconstitutional.

We can't do much about the slanted media but Trump should have brought these things up, knowing that ABC wouldn't
Akhil Amar, Yale constitutional law professor and literally one of the most cited legal scholars of all time has a proposal for something that could be called term limits. It doesn’t involve a constitutional amendment. It’s where the Biden plan came from.

I refuse to vote for either of these monsters. However, I find myself hoping that Trump wins. I'm now convinced that a Trump victory in 2024 is the only way to guarantee that Trump won't be the GOP nominee in 2028.
I don’t know if it matters…. Candidates seem to get worse every time.

link?

The second time she asked? I’ll go back and watch but the first time she asked all I heard was I wouldn’t have to because it would never make it through Congress. Even if he’s right it was an easy answer and he bumbled and fumbled through it from what I heard.
I misheard it .he said I won't have too.....but he did say he wouldn't sign a ban

I’m of the opinion that this SCOTUS would disagree

That might actually be a good thing if she was involved. There are no smart people allowed in the room to advise Trump.
Trump is always going to Trump no matter who advises him.
I wonder if the "See Spot Run" book has been banned?

He'd be, what, 86? No way.

Plus the party elite have had enough of him and will use another loss as reason to move back to more traditional GOP positions.
I was referring to this upcoming election. Trump will be woofing down buckets of KFC at Mar a la go when he is 86.

The best case scenarios are:

Trump wins, and then in 4 years the GOP can finally move on and return to its place as the slightly less distasteful party.

Or, Trump loses big, and now the GOP can finally move on and return to its place as the slightly less distasteful party.

I don't think the 2nd one is happening.
