Have loved this site for years and couldn't be more appreciative of all the hard work.

Just curious, what does the VN infrastructure look like? I work in the enterprise solution sector for a certain IT company here in Nashville and have always wondered what machines and specs you use to keep it up (especially the last 5 years). Just curious.

Freak, I would gladly chip in something to keep the site robust.

You may want to look at FireHost. I've used them several times before with great results. You can scale on-the-fly as needed.

I would consider urljet for vbulletin hosting. I use them to host a large forum with them now and speed is great.

If only Tennessee's coaching search were conducted as well as Freak handled the performance issues.

I have a feeling the new server is gonna get tested heavily in the next few days.

Yeah, the server configs are not optimized yet. Under these loads the wrong settings can make the site unresponsive rather quickly. Hopefully, we are close to finding the optimal tweaks and can put these issues behind us.

Thanks for the great site Freak!! In a way I got a few more hrs of sleep last night cause I couldn't get anything just shy of 11pm ct. As an informed member of the site I had read this thread and knew you were doing yo thang around that time.:good!::hi: This morning it's been slow, server not found messages on my iPad (in case that info helps in your configuration stuff).

Seems like you had your Dooley sideline faceplam moment with your server issues during this week of all weeks. Story of the yr for we Vol fans. Fumble/interception on a key scoring drive at the end of the game. Glad to see you are getting more respect or least it's being shown cause wouldn't be surprised that some of these people are really cussing your name when a glitch happens. Don't lie you know your ears have been on fire the last 24hrs. Ha!:p

See if Hart can lend ya a few bucks from that "dumptruck" of coach cash so you call up Dell and throw some more RAM on that puppy. We need all the power we can get for Gruden XXXXXVVVVIIIII thread :)

Apparently I pulled a Dave Hart and was seemingly blindsided by something that I should have seen coming for months. :)

When the load is so high, it's difficult to tweak a new server since one false move and you get the result we've seen for the past couple of hours.

Actually, the odd part is the new server has a boatload of RAM which isn't being used yet the processing can't keep up with the connections. Anyway, too much information I'm sure. We seem to be stable at this point and I'll be making minor optimizations and evaluating the results before moving forward with the hope that I won't bring the server down again.
