Server Issues... my apology

From looking at their website I don't see anything that would begin to handle our traffic. :)

We have a pretty robust server but it's time to move up again it appears.

Could be time for an upgrade to an even prettier Robust 2.0 server. :)

Yeah, the server configs are not optimized yet. Under these loads the wrong settings can make the site unresponsive rather quickly. Hopefully, we are close to finding the optimal tweaks and can put these issues behind us.

Yep, the devil is in those optimal tweaks.

I was wondering if your servers were physically local to you...

There is a cup is half full/sunshine to all of this... during this time of crazy loads, open your doors up and let the servers cover the heating of your building. They must be absolutely screaming right now.

If we have any apache/mysql optimization experts in the house.... I know a board admin who would like to be your best friend. :)

Kind of like a word problem which lots of circular equations to solve. :)

I use to have several sites hosted through LINODE and had to manually optimize the Apache/MySQL configs for nothing close to the traffic this place gets. But if I can help in anyway I'll try.

Thanks for all you do........this is truly a wild time. TSR had to update their situations to handle all the traffic. Crazy

I have taken many IT courses in a wide arrange of technologies. My experience with New Horizons, at least the one in Chattanooga, has been dreadful...simply dreadful--like throwing money down the drain.

Prolly why it doesnt exist anymore.

I'm sure you are aware Freak, but there is about a 15-25 second delay on mobile currently to load a page. Just a little feedback incase it helps you

I administer MS SQL Server Databases so not familiar with My SQL. One thing we did to help performance during peak loads is migrate to Virtual Servers that can allow us to add processors and RAM on the fly. This works for us.

Good grief, people, it's not flux capacitors that are needed; it's dilithium crystals. Duh.

This is still pretty painful on a 3G phone, but the good news is that I'm actually getting some work done for a change. :)

Thanks for the mad scramble, Freak. :hi:

+1

I tried getting on yesterday from work and couldn't. I just new something big had happened. Got my hopes up for nothing. :)

Thanks for the site Freak!

Just curious Freak, are you utilizing gzip/deflate? Memcache? Have you looked into load balancing options?

We've been on virtual servers but the migration for a site this site isn't as immediate as I hoped. At least not with our current host.

Yes.

Yes.

We currently have only one large server but load balancing multiple servers may be in our future if things continue.

This crap needs to get fixed... One if the most crucial times in tennessee football, and its down, or slow for the past two days... C-mon freak, this is busch league...ughhhh, just hire a damn coach already.. stressing out!!!!

Ahh Ok.

I don't mean to pry but I just want to clarify, are you using a VPS as opposed to a dedicated for the site?

We've been on dedicated for many years.
