Seth Davis strikes again. He's got us missing the dance even if we beat Memphis.

That would be my guess. I pray I'm wrong but I just don't see any way we get good news coming out of that meeting.

This feels like a redshirt to me.

Yes, im def thinking reshirt.. Unless he can come back in the very near future, i would save him untill next year. He will be fully heathly on virtually the same team (- McBee, Hall). Saving Maymon till next year = Vengence!

If we beat Memphis we are in IMO...

We would only have to go 11-7 in SEC play to get to 20 wins. As weak as the SEC is, we would have to play pretty bad not to go 11-7. And I think we will win One out of Four of: Kentucky, Kentucky, Missouri, and Florida. Especially considering 3 are at home.

What we have to watch is losing to bad SEC teams. We can not lose more than one game to a bad SEC team. For example, South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, Miss State

Our defense will keep us in every game we play and our offense cant get any worse i see us winning 10-12 conference games this year with an upset over kentucky or florida at home. which should put us in the tournament really wish we won that georgetown game though

USCe and Auburn haven't looked terrible either. Auburn hung tight with Illinois, and USCe is around 8-3 currently.

Xavier almost turned into a trap game.
If we follow that pattern here are some likely trap game losses down the road.

Xavier Memphis (barely survived Xavier at Home)
Alabama(A) KY
Vanderbilt(A) KY
Texas A&M(A) Florida
Auburn(A) Missouri

Vanderbuilt's men lose to the practice team for the lady Commadors this year. And we may sweep KY this year.
Why are you so down on this team. Is it because they are not like Pearl's offenses? This is a different team. This is a hard nosed defensive minded team, who will be more affective offensivly once Reese and Edwards start getting more minutes.

I assume he was referring to Scotty Hopson. If so got to aggree with him!!!

Aggree to disagree then. People who expected him to be some sort of savior for our basketball team are the one's who see him as a bust. Everyone else sees him as a player who was overrated and overhyped by fans and "experts" alike. If he had been ranked #75 instead of top-10, people would be happy with the production. 17 ppg is pretty nice. Off the top of my head, the last UT player to average close to that was Chris Lofton, who ironically was a kid from KY who was underrated, yet is lauded by UT fans to this day.

My point is, Scotty Hopson is not to be blamed for his inability to fulfill the hopes and dreams of an unrealistic fanbase.

He's the tyler bray of our basketball team. Led our team in scoring and people hate him because he didn't live up to their unreal expectations. only difference is Bray was (legit) underrated. and Hopson was a bit overrated

Plus Tyler's attitude sucked and he threw the Kentucky game last year.

Lunardi hasn't updated his Bracketology, but on twitter 3 days ago he has Tennessee in the tournament. Not even in his last 4 in

It's meaningless, but Memphis (should they not win CUSA) would be one of the last four in

I'm down on the team because I see the cons as well as the pros. Good observation.
If you think we sweep KY, good luck with the opiates.
Defense is great, but to beat good teams you need to score points.
When you're still benching players in the 11th game for lack of effort, there are serious problems.
And we have yet to score more than 38 points on the road.

Injuries piling up. Not looking good for this season.
Where's the silver lining?
I wish them the best, but from what I see the cards are stacked against us.

You do this consistently lol

If they win tonight you'll be back on the train.

Never got off the train.
I still pull hard every game.
I think I'm just a little more objective than most care to be.
I see what I see.

I've got my questions as well about this team, however they continue to find ways to win and at this point they've shown me nothing thr makes me think they'll drop multiple games to the bottom dwellers of the SEC.

That is an amazing stat. how bad is the SEC when we are considered a bubble team with those kinds of numbers?

Because we were 8-3 at the time, and our losses were/are to good opponents.
