Severe Weather Thread

This was the first on I've seen. As soon as it hit land it stopped rotating and dissipated. Cool thing to see from a distance.

We had ten inches of rain here last weekend. No storms just heavy rain. I'm in middle TN.

We've had a little bit of thunder and lightning but by far it's just been heavy rain. We had a lot last week that caused some flooding, got a short break, and today we're getting absolutely dumped on. There's a little water flow thing (I don't know what to call it- it's like a really large controlled runoff ditch) that usually has maybe 2 feet of water flowing through it, and based on where it is on its concrete embankment right now I'd say it's close to 12 feet currently.

It's been a weird July here too. Rain by the bucket full and abnormally cool. We've not reached 90 but a few times. We hit 116 here last July. We were north of 105 for several days straight.

One thing I'm thankful for is the good ole east TN clay, at least in this part of Knoxville anyway. You don't usually get trees randomly falling down from supersaturated ground.

Yea. I do. Smith Fork is only a couple miles from here.

I love that little stream. I'm hoping to go up and float a little stretch on Saturday and see if the smallmouth are biting. I've only fished the section from the hwy 70 bridge in Dowelltown down to the bridge on Dismal Rd.

I'm way on downstream toward Temperance Hall. There are a few good holes for catfish as well.

are there any good places to get out down that way if I float from the Dismal Rd. bridge?

I'm sure there are but I'm not sure where. People float it often but in more of a bank fisherman.

There is a good gravel bar with easy road access at the Temperance Hall bridge. I'm not sure how long it would take to float from Dismal to T. Hall.

Lovely weather everyday it seems.
