Severe Weather Thread

Yep. You would think me Memphis being "the bluff city" that the bluffs would deaden a lot of the severe weather. We have been lucky enough to avoid a lot of tornadoes because of the Chickasaw bluff in Lauderdale County.

I grew up north of there so I'm use to the tornado warnings.

Well it turns out it was just heavy rain, I'm going to be bed I haven't had a good nights sleep in awhile and I need it.

Our eighteen hour dry spell has ended. Up to two more inches of rain is expected in the next twelve hours. The [past four days has dumped over eight inches in our area.

So far lightening instead of tornadoes is the biggest safety threat.

It looks like some of the storms may be weakening a little. Not as many Tornado Warnings in Arky. The rain may be stabilizing the atmosphere and the cooler air may be keeping the storms from supporting any large tornadoes. Imo, the biggest threat will be flash flooding tonight. We may have dodged a hug bullet. Still, I would keep an eye on the weather, but I am feeling much better about it than I was earlier today

Some tornado warnings are just springing up west of Lexington, KY right now. Looks like it will miss us tonight, but tomorrow is supposed to be pretty bad from the way they're talking.

All is quiet on my homefront. Thanks for the updates, Count.

Gonna be a rough day for most of the day today. Feels like a good day to stay home and call out sick

Just got power back...Love me some power. Looks like most of it is out of the Memphis area now. I feel for the Huntsville area, looks like it will get very ugly there. Stay safe folks because those are some ugly storms.

Looks like the line that is around Crossville now is going to hit Knoxville fairly soon, although I'm no Count Volcula.
