Severe Weather Thread

I'm here at UT and it hasn't been that hectic towards Clement, though there was some major hail earlier. Then again, we've stood pat in our dorm.

Lenoir City got hammered by that last one. We had some serious wind and hail there for a minute. Power is out, we are holed up in the basement. Kids about to sleep to ipod and candle light.

Also, I've heard this could be worse than the 1974 Super Outbreak, which is by far the worst outbreak ever. This is crazy. Prayers go out to our crimson brothers.

This is just absolutely terrible.

If your car or house has didn't damaged by hail or wind tonight, just be happy you still have your life. 25 people lost their lives in Alabama. Very sad.

I'm just 19, but how does this storm relate to some of the more serious ones to hit East Tennessee over the past several years? It just keeps coming in waves.

I don't recall waves of storms of this magnitude in my 28 years right off the top of my head.

I just heard a total of 75 tornados today! You guys are going to be the new tornado alley if you don't watch it.

channel 3 in chattanooga already saying this has been the most severe weather and damage this area has ever seen and that it's not even close.

Anything going on at Cherokee Lake area? I got a place up there and the guy that looks after it for me isnt answering..

Blount Co. has been under a tornado warning since about 3:30.

Looks like one more cell coming through then we should be done with the major, major stuff.

Lots of lightning and minimal hail at this point. Will keep you posted if need be.

Looks like another line that's currently down near Dayton is going to head Knoxville's way.

if you all are in or around blount and want to take the class, let me know. not sure when we'll hold another, but i can probably get you in.

It would be 75%

When dew point and temperature are the same, then the RH is 100%

I'm about 99% sure this isn't correct. RH does not equal T(dew point) divided by T(air temperature). Is that what you are saying?

It is more complicated than that...but you can use a Mollier diagram to get the info. At a temprature of 82 and a dew point of 62, the RH would be more like 50%.
