Severe Weather Thread

saw a helicopter flyover of the path of destruction.

It is unreal - it keeps going and going (miles and miles) and everything in the path is destroyed.

One of my coworkers has a son in Alabama. All is okay, but I thought I'd show a photo he took just prior. (not sure exactly where that is though).

The death toll number keeps rising. This is just really sad and unreal. 210 reported deaths with 29 in Tennessee.

I was unlucky enough to hear that sound tonight. I've got a tree in my living room now....never had anything like this happen to me before. We're safe, but almost all my belongings are a total loss.

After my roof blew off we had storms for several more hours. Living room and kitchen r under water

Sorry to hear about your property damage, but I am glad that you made it through the storms safely.

good thanks - really was spared twice today.

Some up to 100 mph straight line winds came through about 5 am. Lots of trees down but none for me. As stated earlier, that beast of a tornado that went through Bham passed just north of me and all I got was some rain and thunder/lightning. I almost feel guilty given the damage others received.
I'm glad you made it through without any damage.

Got a lot of hail. My car is dented all to hell, but I'm thankful we didn't get anything like what happened south of Tennessee. I hope the best for them.

I was in the Rocky Hill area, and I swear something came through. It wasn't just hail, it was LOUD. One side of my house had most of the paint ripped off by hail and wind. The tin roof over the back porch has giant holes in it from the huge hail balls that fell. Everything that wasn't under some sort of cover outside is dented up (grill, fire pit cover, deck).

I heard the Pilot on Northshore and Morrell had a roof collapse, but I haven't had time to go look.

Heard a transformer blow up last night too, which was scary, and the water was rising fast around my house.

But everything turned out okay and the power was back on shortly after midnight. Had a good reason to grill all the meat in the fridge, drink all the booze, and tried to make the best of it.

My mom is over that store and she told me it was beat up pretty bad. The McDonald's is working with the drive-thru only and the Pilot has some leaking roofs. I was just in the building yesterday, but it was before the storms hit.

Estimating that the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa and Bham was on the ground for 300 miles. Didnt lift until it got into NC

Again, thats just an estimate. If so, its a record.

I was fixated on the weather channel all morning and couldn't believe the damage, what an absolute disaster. I wish all of those folks a good recovery, and the ones who lost their lives, my heart goes out to their families, very sad.
