Reading the game thread, i have never been more appalled at the comments of Lady Vol "Fans." Your bashing of our players, our coach, and our team was appalling. You are NOT Tn "fans." Rooting and hoping for us to lose so you can "justify" Holly as a bad coach is the epitome of disgust.

What say you know??

TN has 30 wins and in an elite 8. The entire sports world sees how great a job holly has done. Your vitriolic hate saddens me and it's a disgrace to our program, to our school, and to Pat Summit and the legacy she built.

What most people don't realize is that we are red shirting maybe our best player deshields bc she transferred in. Also we have a strong 6'6 post player that is red shirting due to injury..... Oh also our ONLY all American who is also our leading scorer and rebounder has been out half the year.

Holly has earned my support and is gonna kick ass. We will make final 4 this year and should again next year as well.

Criticizing a coach is fine. I agree it's the personal attacks that are sad.

If ANY other women's coach took their team to a 30-5 record and elite 8 appearance the same year they lost three key players.. including their leading scoring and leading rebounder in Harrison, they'd be a National Coach of the Year candidate... Holly will be evaluated with her recruits in the years to come, but now is not the time to bash her.

Mitchell's KY team got knocked out on their home floor by a 7 seed. Oregon State got knocked out on their home floor by 11 seed gonzaga and yet you don't see anyone calling for their coaches to be fired. Why do our fans?

But this was a far inferior team talent wise and Holly got outcoached, almost beaten by, a first year coach. We should never have been behind that team like that late in the game. They were an 11 seed.

I see where we are headed and it is a dark road. In a couple of more years we will be a cellar dweller in the SEC to maybe be a mid level SEC team. I have not been hard on CHW this year. I got a nice email from Freak about what I had to say about CDT. But People like you who tell me to go away, well you make me want to come on here and tell you the truth about your "precious" CHW. She should never have been hired. She is not a coach. She makes our proud University look like a bunch of bumpkins.

We need to fire her and do a dual, men's and women's HC search. Lol. That wont happen, but we will be looking SOON. More losses are coming next year.

My thoughts exactly! People talk about the past and Pat and its just ridiculous! Holly is not going to duplicate everything Pat did... because the game is completely different now. Honestly, Holly has exceeded my expectations and I have complete 100% faith in her as coach. However, there will always be idiots who want her gone and do not understand that their blind GREED will send the LV into a dark age if heeded

Great thing about the internet is we can all come on here and state our opinions!!! Even if yours is wrong!!

They also did it in what was effectively a road environment. Everyone, excluding a small contingent in the corner behind their bench was screaming for them to lose.

I will say this about this win: it was perhaps one of the most gutsy performances I have seen a women's UT basketball team put forth. Holly Warlick deserves enormous credit.

Let's keep in mind that gonzaga blew out a pretty good George Washington team and handled Oregon st well too. They played this tournament much better than a 11 seed and we caught them in their home city and the tremendous momentum they had coming into this game. This game was ripe for an upset no matter who was playing gonzaga, except uconn. Defense, rebounding and a little bit of luck won this game tonight and holly deserves a lot of the credit. She made the right decision to keep Carter on the bench and she didn't give up on the press.

My point exactly! I became a fan of the lady Vols the moment Holdsclaw stepped on campus and have loved the Vols since then! Pat has set a standard and being ordinary is something I will never accept as a fan of the Lady Vols. It is no way we should be down 17 to a number 11 seed regardless if it is like a home game to them. It is no excuse not to make adjustments, call timeouts, utilize players who may be able to provide a spark and remove players that aren't getting it done. Great coaches have done that and far too often Holly seems to be just happy to be there instead of demanding better. You can call it what you want but for most of this game she was out coached and some of you can sit and pretend like she wasn't but the fact of the matter she was. You do not have your undersize post playing behind 6'4/6'5 post when you're in a zone, you have them fronting the post and forcing them to pass over the top with the help of the double team on the backside. You have 2 extra bodies (6'3 and 6'2 Dunbar and Moore) on the bench who you could have possible used if for nothing else to spell a player like Burdick who had given all she could give or to hit a few 3's (Dunbar) to get you back in the game (and if we know nothing at all about Dunbar we know she suffers from the never seen a shot she hasn't like syndrome she will shoot the ball and will not think twice about it). I'm sorry if demanding excellence from a team/organization who in my opinion established what excellence is isn't too much to ask. People wonder why Uconn and Geno are so great and it is because Geno isn't settling for nothing but the best from his players, if you can't do what he is asking of you, you will sit and it doesn't matter if you are the best player in the country. I will never apologize for demanding that we maintain the standard set. I want to get back to the days when teams feared playing the Lady Vols like teams fear playing UConn! I hope this game opens the eyes of Holly and the players moving Forward. I am proud of our girls and Holly for pulling it out in the end and I hope we can do the same Monday as it would be big for the program moving forward. A few of the 2016 recruits could potentially be moving us to the top of their list with a final 4 appearance and a decent showing/upset of Uconn.

This may get the award for the stupidest post I have ever read. Two of our best players are in foul trouble most of game, we have 3 Freshmen on the floor at one time, and come back from 17 down and it was not due to coaching? You seriously want to fire a coach who is 30-5 with three players injured (including possibly the top draft pick in WNBA) and has team in Elite 8. Our "precious" CHW was handpicked and chosen by Pat. Did you have a better person to hire? Holly has dedicated her career to this program. She was the only assistant that stayed by Pat's side year after year. She earned the right to lead this program.

Somebody has hit the crack pipe again. If you follow the LV you would that we have a transfer named Deshields who will likely be 1st team AA preseason next year. With what else we having coming in I expect us to be be better next year. We have won 30 games this year and are SEC co champions. Drug testing should be required to post on this board.

Lol. The "truth" as you put it, is your opinion, not fact. OP is more correct than some on here want to admit bc they're butthurt and look like fools for bashing her all season. Anyone who bashes a coach on a 30 win season needs to reexamine success. Success and dominance are not synonymous, although you (and some others) seem to think they are, and won't be satisfied until we get Pat 2.0 on the sidelines.

Holly and the players deserve some criticism but also deserve to be applauded. I have no problem when people are frustrated with certain players or coaching decisions as that is the nature of sports. Personal attacks on the other hard should not happen they are all people and most of us are guilty of it sometimes I have said this player sucks blah blah in the heat of the moment I just get frustrated. Go lady Vols let's kick Marylands tail and head to tampa.

I will add as well that it is obvious that holly struggles to coach certain aspects of the game. However when Russell deshields and Jones are on the court next year we will be able to better judge coaching.

I love this program and will support the team – both players and coaches – win or lose, and I will do so proudly and happily. I despise with a burning passion the ignorant, low-life f***ups who try to pass themselves off as fans but who only come here to whine and complain and happily spew their diarrhea of the keyboard all over this forum, regardless of whether the team wins or loses. I don't want these a**hats to eat crow; I want to watch them feast on a steaming pile of horse s*** . . . literally.

I agree. I love the Lady Vols because of the history of the program, the pride they play with, and the heart they show on the court. Tonight all of that was shown. The ladies haven't had the best tournament, yet here they are, in the Elite Eight, playing for the final four. Hopefully they will be competitive against Maryland.
