Nared played well did you forget she had to battle two 6-5 players.

I get that but 3 quick turnovers and missing layups will get us beat in big games. I know she's young and has a big upside. Holly appears to have faith in Nard.

What is your opinion of Nard's play? Warlick played her quite a bit yesterday and I wasn't impressed with her hustle and focus.
Holly had to play her a lot because of foul trouble and we needed her size. She still plays like a freshman at times. She shows flashes of being very good but seems to lack confidence at times. I thought she did O.K. considering the pressure they were under late in the game. She wouldn't be getting near the minutes she is getting if Izzy and JJ were still available. We need bodies and at her size, she's the one. She is better than Dunbar for what we need her for now.

If I remember correctly, the turnovers were all in the first half. As far as missing layups...well, the entire team did that tonight, so I wouldn't necessarily single out Jaime.

Great win for the Lady Vols. My hat is off to the players who never quit and really got after it the last 6 minutes. But it is hard to watch Holly coach. This isn't personal it is stating the obvious. We had the players to easily defeat this 11th seed, but had no answers in the post and kept making the same inept mistake of letting them go untouched with no backside help the entire game. We simply wore them down with superior talent not superior coaching. Don't care about HW's fashion statement or lack thereof just her coaching ability. Her answer for everything on the court is the same, go back and read, she should just tape it and when interviewed go to the tape. Bottom line she does not have the coaching ability to win a NC so get use to it.
Oregon State thought they had the players and team also. How did that work out for them.........

Excellent perspective! That's what I need. Thanks!

How many layups or putbacks did Graves miss ? And if i remember correctly Nared hit some big shots in the game.

Volstylexx first off I was not in the game thread. But Holly is not a coach. The players won that game tonight, and I have tremendous respect for their effort late in the game, they won inspite of poor coaching. But this was a far inferior team talent wise and Holly got outcoached, almost beaten by, a first year coach. We should never have been behind that team like that late in the game. They were an 11 seed.

I see where we are headed and it is a dark road. In a couple of more years we will be a cellar dweller in the SEC to maybe be a mid level SEC team. I have not been hard on CHW this year. I got a nice email from Freak about what I had to say about CDT. But People like you who tell me to go away, well you make me want to come on here and tell you the truth about your "precious" CHW. She should never have been hired. She is not a coach. She makes our proud University look like a bunch of bumpkins.

We need to fire her and do a dual, men's and women's HC search. Lol. That wont happen, but we will be looking SOON. More losses are coming next year.

Edit: i did say she looked like a clown so I guess that is what you are calling the game thread, and she did.

Thanks for the most laughable post of the week.

Here's the deal. Holly is not a Top Ten coach in Women's BBall. We can all see that, she is clueless on adjustments. Offensive and Defensive, although I can live with the defense we play. We need bigs, athletic bigs who can shoot and rebound, a true point, also we need the ability to create our own shots. Last night was a great comeback win. I am proud of these Ladies for that. Gonzaga is a much better fundamental team then we are. What won the game for the LV's was depth and physical defense, the Zags just didn't have the legs.

Let me put it this way: We scored 2 points in the first 8 and half minutes of the second half, against an 11 seed, and we're all supposed to be thankful for our brilliant coaching staff? We've won three games in the tourney, and none of our opponents finished the season in the TOP 35. We had to hang on, at home, to win one game, and make an improbably comeback in another. It's all about winning--but we make games harder than they should be, and last I check that is not a check mark under "great coaching.' I'm sorry if criticism bothers, um, ladies.

I'm not saying criticism is not deserved but I'm still waiting on that list of great coaches we could have hired instead of Holly.

Don't know. I'm just asking for opinions as I share mine. I think Nard will develop into a great player. That 3 she hit was unexpected. Glad she finished well. I'm hoping for more consistent play.

I have re-watched the game 4 times from start to finish and I am still amazed at the great come back from our TEAM. watching it again lets you calm down and see clearly just where mistakes were made. I pick out who is giving effort or coasting so much better.

My game balls would go to A Mass & Burdick. Massengale was the great general, Burdick the Warhorse.

I hope Mass's legs aren't shot on Monday. She wore them down to the nubs yesterday.

All you non basketball folk keep reverting back to the fact that Gonzaga was an 11 seed. Like that means anything in TODAY'S world of basketball. Gonzaga is known for winning games just like this, they've done it before. But to beat a 6 seed, 3 seed and give a 2 seed all they can handle as an 11 seed shows they weren't a typical 11 seed. I'd love to see all the haters faces when the game becomes so even that we have 14 seeds upsetting 3 seeds like we had on the men's side this year!!

Tennessee has no depth. They don't have a true SG, a true SF nor a true C, and played this game with essentially 7 players. Massengale played start to finish, and Burdick/Reynolds barely got a breather. They had every excuse to be as tired as Gonzaga, especially with how hard Burdick/Graves had to work against much taller post players.

No one will want to play this team next season.I hope all you crying Nances root for Vandy.

A list of great coaches ? This is Tennessee. I seriously doubt we would have any trouble finding a Women's Basketball Coach. The exception is Geno at UCONN. Everyone else would be tempted also about 3/4 of them would sign a contract

you got some names or just anyone but Holley because she don't show 3/4 of her breast and try to look like she is working on a street corner?

Holly's problem is that she replaced a legend of college basketball, which is impossible for her to overcome. She's done a great job considering that fact, I mean people are pissed and she just got the team to the Elite Eight.......get over yourselves people. Our football program was in the dumps, we have no men's coach, our AD is a douchebag, and y'all are worried about a lady that's got her team in the Elite Eight; seems logical to me.

And who recruited most of these players ? Why has Holly not developed or allowed a player like Dunbar to develop and help us through the season when it matters. Dunbar has length and range, don't you think if she would have played during the season more she could possibly help us now ?

Burdick and Graves are good rebounders, they have good size. Burdock played her ass off, Graves i believe is hot and cold. I do not have an agenda against Holly but she is the Head Coach and is responsible for them. They have a roster full of All-American recruits.

Holly is the boss, and she has led us to an Elite 8 with a wounded team......WE have 5 stars sitting on the bench, due to injury and transfers, and people want to complain about Holly.....She's OK with me.

Yeah, Dawn Staley, Brenda Freese. That's just gross thinking of Holly in that manner. And I don't care what someone wears or what they look like. I never mentioned that as a criteria for coaching BBall
