Okay, I know I have zero credibility at all. But coming from a source very close to the recruitment that he will open up his recruitment within a couple of weeks and that CCM has made him rethink things a bit and he may be committing to UT. TIFWIW I'm just saying what I've been told. Don't shoot the messenger

If true...WOW!

You'd have to think he'd be committing to UT though, not a fall back, if he's going to de committ from Bama.

Very good player, be interesting to watch.

Sorry meaning Shannon is our fall back of Nichols goes elsewhere

So hale is going to de commit, In case Nichols decides not to come to UT?

It seems like if he's de committin from bama because of CCM, he's coming to Tennessee, not just an incase something happens he might get to come to UT.

It's as out of the blue to me as it is to you BTO... He could be just pulling my leg persay.

I'm not saying he wont de commit, I believe that. I just think if he's de committing BECAUSE of CCM, then he'll be committing to UT. I doubt he's de committing because CCM is saying, hey Shannon you should de commit because if Austin doesn't come here you can.

IMO if CCM has convinced him to open up, it's because he is likely headed to UT.

I got what you were saying the first time. You might have to explain it a couple more times to the OP.
Im like you there is no way he is a fall back guy.He will commit to Tn because of CCM not because Austin will go some place else.

Convincing a 4* in-state player to stay home instead of go to Bama would sound good to me.

Not saying the Hale story isn't true, but it would seem odd. Cuonzo quit recruiting Montay Brandon last year after he committed to FSU - wouldn't even let him come on an official visit when Brandon wanted to do so - reportedly because he (coach Martin) doesn't recruit kids who are committed to other schools. Maybe this is just part of the dance, "go ahead and de-commit, wait a few days, then we'll seal the deal."

we are in good shape with a bunch of higher rated players,he must be a fall back guy in case we miss on a few we are after.

Weird. Okay, so let's say Hale commits to UT. Two commitments with Landry. That gives us two spots left and we know we want Hubbs, Nichols, King, Agua, Ringer, Newkirk and JWIII. And we are in decent to good position with all of them. This could mean a couple things:

1) Landry is gone.

2) Cheivous or Reese will be gone.

3) Stokes will be gone.

If true, I'm guessing a combo of #2 and #3. I mean, it's not impossible that UT could have six scholarships available next year.

Maybe pursuing Hale is a sign that we are not in as good of shape as many feel we were with JW3.

This is interesting and very possible. If you look at Bama's depth and who they recently signed, it makes it that much more possible. Grant just signed Hale, a center, and a 6'7 wing. Maybe the recent kid opened his eyes a bit?

Also, I don't think Hale would be anybodies back up plan. The guy is just as skilled as Austin Nichols but comitted too early to continue getting hype.

Hale is NOT going to be ANYONES back up plan, that's absolutely ridiculous, this is a very talented player.

IF this is true and he de committs, I would fully expect him to be a Tennessee volunteer. I don't think anybody knows stokes future for sure, including CCM, so I doubt he's banking on stokes leaving.

As Rob Lews has said, CCM feels comfortable with this motion offense running without a true backup Pg. So my guess, is if we got Hale, we are cutting ties with Landry. This still leaves us 3 scholarships for any combination o the guys that were in on. Probably will lose somebody in th offseason (Q or Reese seem most likely) and if that's the case, then we can bring in Hale, PLUS 4 others, while still keeping Stokes.

I really am feeling like the chances of Landry being here next year are going down by the day.

I don't necessarily disagree with the Landry comments, but I'd sure like to have a PG with at least some college experience after Trae is gone. If we don't bring someone in for the '13 class, we'll have to rely on a true Freshman to lead the point. A Richardson / Moore type may work as a backup, but I don't see that type of player running the show. JUCO would be another option, but again, I don't think Melvin Goins would've been effective had he not played behind Maze his Junior year. I'd wanna hedge my bets if I were Cuonzo.
