He loved Pearl.

Not according to what his former teammates at Science Hill had to say. He did really like BP initially as a person (who didn't) but he didn't like (had concerns) about things he was hearing involving BP on the recruiting front. This from his former teammates at Science Hill. TIFWIW

Hale is a 4. Nichols will continue to be our primary post prospect...even over JW3. Hale would not be a replacement for Nichols. Hale would be a replacement for either JW3, Agau, Ringer, etc. We've needed to look at taking 2 posts in this class all along. I don't know that we cut someone loose (current player) for Hale's committment (wouldn't necessarily be good prior to the season starting if someone knew they wouldn't be retained on scholarship the next season). If we were to cut Landry loose, I'd say that would be because we were landing a guy like Newkirk or Peters. Our needs are a PG, wing, and 2 posts. It'd be a big gamble if we didn't take 2 posts this season.

I agree with everything here except one major part...

Why would we cut someone lose before the season started?

Well, that's a little bit of stating the obvious.

So has Shannon told you this, just curious how likely this is, I'd love to have him.
He text me saying he loved COach Martin and that he isn't feeling good about Bama anymore. So me being the vol fan I am I have been talking up Tennessee like I always have with him. He talked to his dad about the switch and his dad told him to truly think it over but he should honor his commitment.

So he's talked with CCM or just likes the way CCM seems?

Shannon is very underrated player. Top 50 imo, I think that we may not be in good shape with Nichols and this why Shannon is doing this, dude wants to be a Vol.

I'd love to have Hale but I still think Nichols comes to UT. I don't see him going to Florida after landing their big target and I don't see him going to Duke to be buried in the depth chart. I would think playing from the git-go is a priority?

We wouldn't cut them prior to the season starting. However, if we oversigned our scholarships then someone would know they wouldn't be coming back (ie Reese or Q). Meaning, if we were fortunate enough for 4-5 guys to verbal to use in the Fall, then someone isn't coming back. If I'm not gaining PT in the Fall, I'm looking to transfer for the Spring. The writing would be on the wall IMO. For guys to put in the work during the summer and training camp and know they may be "asked to look for better opportunities to play," that wouldn't be good for team morale.

Thats what I was saying to replying to MC. Our depth would still be much better than either duke or Florida.

And if stokes was to leave, there is DEFINITELY plenty or minutes.

We won't over sign our limit in the early signing period, that's November. We will be lucky to have one by then it is appearing.

It will be at the end of the season before we even come close to over signing, and it likely could be after the season is over, so no this shouldn't be an issue.

Me and Shannon were talking about the Tennessee class. And he said Hubbs is a cool guy and seems like a UT lock. Apparently he wears a Tennessee basketball shirt during warmups for m33m

hmm i'll leave this alone until something comes out. If true (and not calling OP a liar or anything) but we should hear something soon?

I would think if he tells Grant he won't be coming because he wants to come to Knoxville, he'll commit quickly.
