I don't see how a ban bet affects him though, other than losing 2800+ posts and having to change names. He'll, and anyone else would, come back as someone else. Ban bets seem rather stupid, imo.

No. His Dad wanted him to play wing in college because he didn't see a pro future for a 6-5 center, but Maymon never played soft.
