Shark Week!

Dude getting his calf muscle bitten off last night was one of those "make your own leg hurt moments."

that guy is the same clown that has taken other shark attack footage and tried to psychoanalyze the shark for the victim so the victim could make peace with their situation.

Hey nimrod, you're standing in a gaggle of Bull Sharks, who just happen to be the most aggressive creatures on earth. GTFO.

The guy who has survived to attacks by Great Whites was awesome. The second one his head was completely in the sharks mouth and it spit him out.

A scientist was saying great whites have the ability to not crush down completely to determine if what they are eating has value or not. So that's why a lot of great white attacks they let the people go.

I certainly wouldn't want to test how accurate that science is.

disappointing to me. It's generally been reruns or re-enactments.

Nat Geo did have a show on last night with a researcher trying to get his arms around Great White reproduction / mating. Hoisted one out of the water, 14.5 feet long and 10 feet of girth. Had it out of the water for 16 minutes. Replaced its homing tag and did several checks, including the claspers. Cool show.

Dude deserved it. Still hurt me like a sob watching it.

it's funny the next thing out of all of the shark bite victims mouths is gibberish about getting back on the horse. My interview with the local news would be a lot different. It would begin and end with a string of expletives. Both to the shark and the ocean as well.

It's not hard to psychoanalyze that with the MOST testosterone out of any animal, a Bull Shark might just bite you for the hell of it.

Yeah I would drop some f bombs for sure. I would be like let that bastard in my habitat and see what happens.

But the reality, is it's not a shark 'attack' unless it happens in a bathtub or swimming pool.

Exactly. It's a shark reacting to trespassing not an attack.

The Air Jaws that was on last night was pretty impressive. The underwater cam that caught one of the whites rushing to the surface was insane. The whites are really impressive and beautiful animals.

Bull Sharks really are the world's biggest @ssholes.

They're like the roid-ragers at the gym. Not lifting enough? PUNCH FACE. Not wearing the right color clothes? PUNCH FACE. Bad haircut? PUNCH FACE. Not "going hard enough or going home"? PUNCH FACE.

They're only worse because instead of punching face.... they consume limbs.

Though, I should say, the Bull Sharks should be commended for being ahead of their time in their brilliant Jersey Shore attacks.

About 94 years too early, my friends.

They were pretty bad in Jacksonville. The St Johns River brackish(sp) water ways were littered with them. While I was there from 01-16, there had to be at least 8 attacks with one fatality.

1901-1916? You're older than I thought

Shark week fan. Wonder if we'll see more Orcas dropping the hammer on some Great Whites?

I'm not sure there was a full 60 minute show it that story, but it was one of the coolest nature docs I've seen in a while.

That and the pack of Killers washing the seal from the iceberg made Orca rise a few places in my unofficial ranking of oceanic badasses.

Godless killing machines.
