shockingly obama's first press conference indicates he isn't going to be more central

Bush got into Yale because he was a legacy. There is a big difference. And Obama graduated magna cum laude and was editor of Harvard Law Review. Very big deal
There's a lot of lawyer jokes in the world today ya know. Being a lawyer doesn't necessarily make one a good leader.

Wow, bragging about being a lawyer. :whistling:

Clearly our history of elected officials shows that we tend to gravitate towards highly, selectively, educated people. I think arguments can be made both ways that maybe it does make them better leaders, but at the same time the pool of candidates tends to be from a small elite group of players meaning your "average" highly educated person is not even on the list.

your average qualified person has no remote interest in being a sleazeball politician, which is almsot the only common descriptor across the crowd of them.

Elite is hardly the word I would use. Willing to run and say what people want to hear is much more accurate. Most of those who could seriously qualify, find much more poductive pursuits.

same stuff we heard during his campaign. . .tax the rich. . . middle class people are the only ones that matter. . . corporate executives shouldn't make any money. . . etc etc etc. He also indicated he wasn't delaying any of his proposals. dow dropped 100 points while he was saying this.

I'm pretty confident he won't be a worse President then Bush. :twocents:

I wouldn't disagree with you there, and that's also why I'm using the word "elite" loosely. They all typically come from the same "prestigious" schools is really the only point I'm making.
