Wow. I cannot believe some people. An assualt on the POUS is a serious crime. I really do not care who the man serving as president is. In hindsight, yes I am glad they did not shot the guy.

However, at the split second that it happened, the second shoe should have never been thrown. The President's guards should have put a bullet between the guy's eyes. Their job is to stop any potential harm to the POUS, whatever it takes. The president was in a dangerous country where bombing is an everyday occurence. If I was their boss, the presidents's guards would be looking for another job.

I would have not felt sorry for any idiot that did not realize the possible consequences of such actions. The message needs to be sent, "You try to hurt the POUS(Whoever he is), then you suffer any potential consequences, even death". It was just 2 shoes, but what if it was not? When it comes to protecting the president, shoot first, ask questions later. Beat up? All that is just too damn bad. Anybody that stupid does not have my sympathy. If it were China, the guy would have already been executed, and his family would have been sent the bill for the bullet.

If it were China, he would still be alive in prison for the rest of his life... and his entire family would be dead.

This sums it up nicely.

Yes, they would fear our mighty American fist if we would have shot a man on live TV for throwing shoes. Everyone would praise us for our bravery and then we would have peace in the middle east.

Would you be happy if an American threw a flaming bag of crap at Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he visited and his protection reacted by shooting him on the spot?

Nobody is happy. Most people would have said the moron got what he deserved.

The guy that threw the shoe basically walked up to the leader of our country and slapped him in the face.

The guy should be dead end of story.

On second thought we should all sit around a round table and discuss what caused him to throw the shoe at Bush... I'm sure it wasn't his fault but a social condition.

Ya, while the media was doing their best to hold their giggles of glee and suppressing the urge to out and out congratulate the guy as they replayed that bit hundreds of times in a matter of 48 hours, I noticed that too. It was almost a full minute before there was any reaction. What if he had those shoes laced with a chemical/biological substance in the form of a powder? Ya they are just shoes... but damn man you don't take any chances, and like was said earlier... you know damn well what the consequences are going into that. If I jump off a ten story building without a parachute, I better not be suprised if I end up with every bone in my body broken huh? I'm not going to go as far as guns should have been going a-blazin' in a room crammed with innocents, but that guy should have been licking the dirt off the floor as soon as he pulled back to launch shoe #1.

But to congratulate the guy? Seriously? That is getting so old. Ok you hate America, I get it. If you voted for "change" than I hope your not vastly disappointed... and if not... There are plenty of other countries out there you can become a citizen of. I mean come on He basically spat in the face of America... if that gives you joy than really what's the point of living here?

Correctomondo!!!!!

Not only that, very few Americans understand the high value placed on the ability to deceive an enemy in Arab and Muslim cultures and of course anyone and everyone who doesn't subscribe completely to Islam is the enemy.

Could be one reason we now have an Arab/American POTUS.

But Bush looked deeply into his eyes and saw his sole!!
