Shooting in El Paso

No, I am asking you to use common sense.

I live in Arizona. We have a gigantic immigrant and illegal immigrant population. Specifically, I live in Phoenix. Did you know it's one of the 5 safest big cities in America? It's also a great place to live. El Paso is also one of the 5 safest cities (prior to this white nationalist attack, anyway). So is San Diego. So is Austin....all 4 are big cities with large immigration populations in border states.

So you can use your red-state colored glasses perception of CA and Europe to argue against immigration, but I'll look at data and my own back yard and use common sense.

No buddy, it's you, volfanjustin, and Trump who have otherized a wide variety of brown people and attributed a lot of ugly things to them.

Don't want to be accurately accused of being racist? Distance yourself from volfanjustin and the alt-right.
There is no accusation required.
You’re a straight up racist

Do you have a starter home in surburban Tempe?

El Paso was in the top 10 for safest Cities in 2019. Ironically, they're losing it because of a white guy trying to murder mexicans.

I'm glad it's safe there. How many illegals are using our resources and welfare system? Does the school systems seem a bit crowded? Are hospitals over ran? Are people living on the streets? They are in many places. Use common sense. This does not work. Again, I am OK with legal immigration just not illegal immigration. People must obey the laws of our land and assimilate. They need to speak our language and learn our history and culture.

I am just tired of watching the news and hearing about how a mom at Walmart shielded her baby and died saving it. Or how a teacher at Sandy Hook died saving kindergarten kids. How you can't go to a concert without wondering if there is some idiot out there--Or even a Tennessee VOLS game. (it certainly has crossed my mind)

If you have a problem with background checks, then I would assume that you have something in your background that would prohibit you from having a gun. In other words, if you beat up your wife, you don't need a gun anyway.

I was hoping that today, Trump would push for approval of this bill.

This is the gun control legislation Mitch McConnell won't allow senators to vote on
All of those checks are already part of the CURRENT background check. The real issues are red flag cases aren't being escalated from local and state authorities to the federal system.

Nobody is saying house the entire world.

Restricting immigration beyond its current limits is not Christlike in any way, shape, or form. We have a labor shortage of 7 million workers. Those are Trump's numbers.

Trump supporters need to open up immigration or stop pretending to be on God's side.

Another theme stands out in the Bible. God regards borders as meaningful and important (see, for instance, Prov. 22:28 and Prov. 23:10-11). Consider Deuteronomy 32:8: “When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.” Ezekiel 47:13-23 details the Promised Land’s boundaries. Numbers 34:1-15 describes the borders the Lord established for each tribe of Israel.

God also employed foreigners as instruments of His justice, with invasion as a curse (just as he used the Israelites to exact justice against the pagans residing in the Promised Land). For example, II Chronicles 36 describes the decline of Judah, the culmination of kingships and continual disobedience by God’s people. This sad passage tells of the Chaldean conquest of Israel and the judgment meted by the Babylonian captivity. The curse in Deuteronomy 28:43-44 reads: “The sojourner who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him. He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.” That curse plays out throughout Old Testament history.

In short, the Old Testament teaches fair treatment of resident foreigners, with certain requirements of the aliens related to religious and civil legal standards. It also instructs that aliens were to assimilate to the Hebrew culture. Boundaries are meaningful, as well, and foreign presence among the Hebrews on several occasions was a curse.

Nobody probably does. We are of the Flesh. Too many DEMs get confused thinking the Government has to do everything for people. Just the opposite. People should be charitable, yes. But people also need to obey God's Word Stop the Abortions.

I think that people who believe in that sort of thing should follow it. As for those that don't, I should not be forced to be governed by your spiritual beliefs.

"Speak our language and learn our culture or I won't love you as I love myself." - Jesus, probably

I can understand you being tired of watching that , it’s terrible . Can you see that the bill you want Trump to push and the senate to pass would not have stopped this sick individual from doing what he did ? My other question that nobody wants to address is what is an “ assault style weapon “ I read in other threads where people claim that “words matter “ when talking about what Trump says but suddenly when it comes to banning firearms they don’t .

Just throwing it out there since it would allow both sides to have leverage. One side gets to propose "real" ideas for background check reform while the other gets to counter with immigration policy.

I just think it'd be interesting to see how the politicians would go about that discussion.

I agree. Nothing should be forced. God cannot force anyone to Love Him. Nobody can force anyone to Love them. God gave us all free will to make our on choices. But God is the ultimate ruler. For those that blaspheme(Ignore God) will suffer eternity in the Lake of Fire. All I am saying, is if everyone chose to follow the Lord and His Word including self proclaimed Christains as in myself, none of this violence would occur. Also, we are all sinners and all of the Flesh and will continue to sin but Jesus covered that Sin with his Sacrifice on the Cross but we must repent and accept Him as our Lord and Savior and Believe in Him as God Manifested in the Flesh to be saved from our Sin and avoid the Eternal Lake of Fire.
