Don't see too many Master Crafts in the Vol Navy.

BTW, our family had one of the 1987 25th Anniversary Prostars. Great boat.

I've always wondered if I could take my MasterCraft to a game. Can such a boat dock there or should it be a larger boat?

I'm a UT alum, but also lived in Seattle for awhile. I've taken boats to games at both places, and I'd have to say that UW actually isn't that bad. Where the boats dock is closer to their stadium, making it a shorter walk. It truly is a beautiful setting with the Cascade mountains visible from the stadium. They also just completed a major stadium renovation making it much nicer. However, with all that being said, the actual game day experience is not even close. Their stadium is "big" (by non-SEC standards) and "loud", but doesn't even come close to comparing to Neyland. While college football isn't as rabid up there as it is down here, they do take it pretty serious. While it is important in the NW, it's a way of life in the South! So, just let them have their fun-they don't even know how to start trash-talking!

Too many good things to say about another school in your post...not a VFL!

Even though they claim to be bigger and better (which I don't believe) this is still great publicity. Besides our big power boats leave their little sissy sailboats in our wash.

I'd rather be in a sailboat in the Sound and a trawler or houseboat on the river/lake.

A bunch of Tennessee River pirates vs a bunch of granola eating, pot smoking, gun hating liberals. Yeah not worth our time.

When I am heading upriver next Saturday afternoon I will be sure to think about Washington ......nah I'll take the river any day over cold rainy dreary Washington!

Somebody make me another drink!

Lol anyone that regularly does Vol Navy knows there is little comparison.

You can talk good about another school when they're 3,000 miles away, in another conference, and absolutely no threat!

You should know by now that there's no immunity to any potential threat to the VN psyche!

Yeah, but sometimes we're all on the same side. Check out this Oregon fan I ran into at the game in Eugene last year.

I haven't been on the water in a Washington Game. But I have been in the stadium, and I wasn't impressed. Great views of Lake Washington, but seats were hard and with little space per person.

I will have to say that UW is a beautiful campus. but the Seattle area has very fair weather fans. They did a fundraiser there in 2005, between husky and cougar (WSU) fans. Washington State fans dominated and they painted the space needle with WSU colors.

That would be like UT and Vandy, fund raising to paint the Sun Sphere the winner's color. There is no way we would let Vanderbilt win.

Comparing boats to the Seattle and Knoxville thou, Seattle wins easily. You don't see a lot of very expensive cars there, because they put all their money into boats instead.

So you're saying UT's metal bleachers are softer?

that shot was beautiful, too bad it rains every day, or so I'm told

Actually it really doesn't rain as much as they want people to believe. It rains more in New York. In summer/early fall it is usually clear skies, with temperatures rarely over 80, with low humidity.
And due to tilt of the earth, very long days.

But in winter it is very depressing, always overcast, usually a steady drizzle, and very short days.

Washington State is a great state to be a snow bird, so you can leave when winter comes.

You might be amazed at the total value of the boats at a booming Vol Navy. There are many $1m+ vessels down there. Mine is not one of those lol, but there are a lot there. Growing up in West Tennessee boating was either a bass boat, pontoon, ski boat or a jon boat.

I spend almost every weekend on the water from March-Oct and a few warmer days in the winter and it never ceases to amaze me how many million dollar plus boats roam the Tennessee River system especially Ft Loudon and Tellico lakes. They make my little 34' Sundancer look like a dingy.

UW has a beautiful setting for a college football game. UT is just a different level in every other category as far as a game day experience.

I'll take JoeltonVol's word for it that UW's dock is closer to the stadium as I've never been there, but from the look of the photo that Boca Vol posted it doesn't look that much closer to me.

In that pic you mainly see the sailboats moored and anchored away from the dock. If you Google "Sailgating at Washington" you can see images of a dock that is pretty close.

It is a bit of a walk from the Vol Navy docks to the gates most everyone I know goes in, especially after a long day at the docks. Just walking across the street can be a challenge lol.

At 70k, I bet their stadium experience is better too.

Don't knock it before you try it. ESPN measured the decibels in the stadium to reach 130. To put that in perspective a jet engine is about 140. I'd love to go see a game there. Just not as much as a game in Neyland. :)

You can see from the photo that there's a walkway (look at the top right corner of the stadium). It's quite a bit closer than walking all the way down to where the boats dock at UT around Calhoun's.

It's been above 80 all summer but it is very clear.

We've been docking right by Calhoun's for years. The walk from there isn't long enough to be worth debating about. And I'm lazy.
