True. But Fulmer stocked the talent pretty well for Chavis, yet they still were never great on 3rd down. So, coaches are usually going to look better with more talent, but there are still better coaches out there that scheme better with their talent.
People seem to forget that Chavis had swiped so many receivers for DB’s that we ran low on WR’s for a year or two.

Chavis was soft on 3rd down too, it’s the worst way to lose. Be tough and be aggressive and let the chips fall as the may. GBO

Like Auburn , if you wait for the opponent to make a play (even 4th & 31) they eventually will .. "Attack attack attack" CJM.

It’s very clear watching this game we are just not there on a talent level yet. It pains me to say that.

I agree. But we're getting closer. Particularly on the DL. Byron Young last year. We keep that up and we'll get there. Defense took a big step this year whether people want to admit it or not. If our defense played this well last year, we would have been in the CFP.

If Steele were at Tennessee he’d be getting raked across the coals worse than Banks is. But yeah I agree, he’s a great DC.

Exactly. Carl Pickens played both ways (could you imagine doing that with a receiver of his caliber now) in 1989 and had four interceptions and was the defensive MVP of the Cotton Bowl!

Talk about the 5 star rosters all you want. Look at all the teams 1-38 and tell me how many of them are loaded with 5 star playersIMG_3303.jpegIMG_3304.jpeg

People either don’t know or choose to forget that Steele was part of the reason Malzahn was run out of town at Auburn. He was aligned with a booster that wanted him to replace his current head coach Malzahn. That kind of crap doesn’t set well for a lot of people in coaching especially someone that’s not entrenched like Saban.

Steele also had that little mental breakdown at Clemson while he was there. Now Saban is fine bc he is a defensive coach as well. Add in the fact that Steele was hired to be interim coach, just a really screwed up situation to try to keep someone like that and wonder where their loyalties were.

If it was a conspiracy then Ga would have received the calls ti ensure a SEC team makes the playoffs.

The horse caller was a good call imo. There was one angle showing the defender having his hand inside the jersey.

Also, we don’t know if the catch wouldn’t been reversed. Personally, I think he had control of the ball as he went to the ground.

It was a well played game by both teams and a joy to watch without caring about the outcome.
It was not a catch, and it was not a horse collar. The ground clearly assisted in the catch; the replay official in Birmingham, Alabama should have, at least, reviewed it. Freaking ridiculous the calls, non calls, that the Gumps get.

Heupel should have keep Steele, much better than Banks! And yes I know we don't have Bama talent.
Lost our best linebacker and corner. No push from the interior line and talent still a ways to go but it's all Banks fault lol. Pls stop with this!!! Pruitt also had alabama defense playing lights out too.
